The things you read in the newspapers

One huge reason why people in this country remain perpetually confused can be found in the utter depravity passed off as normal discourse in the corporate media.

This LA Times story, titled Strike on Iran still possible, US tells Israel, describes how US officials must gingerly talk Ehud Barak down off a high limb over the possibility that the US is softening its stance on Iran, horror of horrors!!
WASHINGTON -- Bush administration officials reassured Israel's defense minister this week that the United States has not abandoned all possibility of a military attack on Iran, despite widespread Israeli concern that Washington has begun softening its position toward Tehran.

In meetings Monday and Tuesday, administration officials told Defense Minister Ehud Barak that the option of attacking Iran over its nuclear program remains on the table, though U.S. officials are primarily seeking a diplomatic solution.
Is it me, or does that have the same ring of search parties reluctantly giving up hope of finding the lost victim? In this case the search parties have looked high and low for a good reason to attack Iran for Israel, but they just can't find one that would justify unleashing hell on earth. Poor Ehud Barak must be so disappointed.
At the same time, U.S. officials acknowledged that there is a rare divergence in the U.S. and Israeli approaches, with Israelis emphasizing the possibility of a military response out of concern that Tehran may soon have the know-how for building a nuclear bomb.
...Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell said in an interview that U.S. officials have often made it clear to Israeli officials that Washington prefers to try to mitigate the threat from Tehran by applying economic pressure.

"The military option, although always available, is not our preferred route," Morrell said.

"We have made that point clear to them and the world in our public statements and private meetings."

Barak left Israel for Washington amid reports in the Israeli press that he would try to talk the Bush administration out of what many Israelis perceive as a more conciliatory policy toward Iran.

On Tuesday, the Israeli Defense Ministry released a statement saying that Barak had told Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates that "a policy that consists of keeping all options on the table must be maintained."
Which is all a very gentle way of noting that the Pentagon, or at least some people there, are telling the Israelis that we're not doing their crazy cuckoo plans this time, and Israel is saying back, oh yes you are.

On the one hand, I think it's really great that this cavernous rift, here euphemistically described as a polite and diplomatic 'rare divergence,' has opened up between Israel and the US. Without your Conspiracy Facts brand 3D glasses and decoder ring on, you'll never know that the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Meanwhile, the NYT does it's level best to keep everyone in America on Israel's side by publishing some crap on July 18th from Benny Morris, a Jewish 'historian.' You can read the deconstruction of Benny's work here.
Morris's July 18th op-ed, with the catchy and oxymoronic title "Using Bombs to Stave Off War," should tip its hat to Herodotus because it is a good story that is virtually devoid of facts, an attribute also ignored by the Times editors. Morris, who is exceptionally truculent for a bookworm, may or may not be a good example of what passes for scholarship in Israel, but he is certainly not interested in cutting the Iranians any slack. He argues that Iran must be attacked, that Israel will almost certainly do so in the next four to seven months, and that it will not be Israel's fault because the rest of the world has refused to do what is right. [in classic psychopathic fashion -- deflecting blame - ed.] Per Morris, attacking Iran's nuclear program might bring peace and not doing so will inevitably lead to Israel's eventually staging a preemptive nuclear strike to solve the Iranian problem once and for all, which would be a worse outcome. As Morris is well connected to the Israeli government, his doomsday scenario must be taken seriously, even if it is bluff or deliberate disinformation. Having given warning of what might happen, the purpose in writing the piece is clearly to frighten the rest of the world into doing the dirty work so that Israel will not have to act. Obviously, the only country that can carry out the mission in a thorough fashion using non-nuclear weapons is the United States. That makes Morris's op-ed a strident call to arms from a leading Israeli for the United States to start yet another war on Israel's behalf because Israel feels threatened. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
Yes, it does. And it appears that some people in the Pentagon are telling Israel that it's not going to happen this time, and that is a very big deal. But what does it mean that nobody is talking openly about the long-awaited solid pushback against Israel, and instead, legitimizes the specter of a nuclear holocaust to satisfy Israel?

What does the publication by the New York Times of an article, which calls for the nuclear incineration of 70 million Iranians and the contamination of the better part of a billion people in the Middle East, Asia and Europe, tell us about US politics and culture? For it is the NYT, which informs the ‘educated classes’ in the US, its Sunday supplements, literary and editorial pages and which serves as the ‘moral conscience’ of important sectors of the cultural, economic and political elite.... The question of Zionist power in America is not merely a question of a ‘lobby’ influencing Congressional and White House decisions concerning foreign aid to Israel . What is at stake today are the related questions of the advocacy of a nuclear war in which 70 million Iranians face extermination and the complicity of the US mass media in providing a platform, nay a certain political respectability for mass murder and global contamination. Unlike the Nazi past, we cannot claim, as the good Germans did, that ‘we did not know’ or ‘we weren’t notified’, because it was written by an eminent Israeli academic and was published in the New York Times.

Resist Lemminghood

What does it mean to have an open mind? I wrestled with this idea yesterday but couldn't quite pin it down in words. As luck would have it, I stumbled across this.

The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates taught his students that the pursuit of truth can only begin once they start to question and analyze every belief that they ever held dear. If a certain belief passes the tests of evidence, deduction, and logic, it should be kept. If it doesn't, the belief should not only be discarded, but the thinker must also then question why he was led to believe the erroneous information in the first place. Not surprisingly, this type of teaching didn't sit well with the ruling elite of Greece. Many political leaders throughout history have always sought to mislead the thinking of the masses. Socrates was tried for "subversion" and for "corrupting the youth". He was then forced to take his own life by drinking poison. It's never easy being an independent thinker! Today, our ruling government/media complex doesn't kill people for pursuing the truth about the world (at least not yet!) They simply label them as "extremists" or "paranoid", destroying careers and reputations in the process. For many, that's a fate even worse than drinking poison hemlock!

Every news story you are about to review in this research paper is true and easily verifiable. This investigation represents 10 months of careful study, research, analysis, source verification and logical deduction. Every event and quote presented here is 100% accurate. There are about 200 detailed footnotes which I encourage, nay, urge, readers to explore and verify for themselves. The Internet version of this paper will allow users to obtain instant verification for each and every footnote by clicking on the footnotes/links. Others can obtain easy verification by entering the key search words (provided at the end of the paper) into the Yahoo or Google.com search engines. Due to the fact that well organized efforts are under way to suppress these facts, some of these news links are mysteriously disappearing even as we speak. Fortunately, this information has all been transcribed by many websites and has therefore been preserved from the censors. These footnote searches will take you directly to the news sites of many well known established media organizations throughout the world as well as opening up doors to a world of knowledge and information that has been concealed from you. With just a little common sense and a few clicks of a mouse, Google and Yahoo now enable anyone with an ounce of curiosity to become a Sherlock Holmes.

This is no opinion piece. Rather it is a collection of buried, but undeniable facts, events, and quotes which, when assembled in one place, will state their own conclusions. In putting together this research in a logical and sequential format, great care was taken to confirm, double confirm, and triple confirm every piece of information. Any and all questionable data which could not be independently verified to this author’s satisfaction was discarded.

Taken individually, each story, quote and event may not amount to a full case. But when taken collectively, this mountain of facts should hammer home the truth to even the most skeptical reader. There are of course those who have fallen under the hypnotic spell of the TV talking-heads and "experts" whom they worship as authority figures. Unaccustomed to thinking for themselves, no amount of truth can sway them from their preconceived prejudices. They will even deny that which they see with their own eyes. They are victims of a psychological affliction known as "the lemming effect". Lemmings are small rodents who have been observed to follow each other as they charge to their deaths into raging rivers or even off of cliffs. Lemminghood is an innate psychological phenomenon, present in most mammals and observable in common people as well the most sophisticated and educated elites. Lemminghood is not an intellectual phenomenon - it is psychological. As such, no socio-economic class is immune to its strangulating effect. A grant-seeking university scientist can be a lemming just as much as a fashion obsessed teen-age girl. One blindly follows the latest trendy theory while the other follows the latest clothing style. What's the difference? Neither can resist the force of nature.

The power to fit in with one's social peers can be irresistible. To a human lemming, the logic behind an opinion doesn't count as much as the power and popularity behind an opinion. Man, like lemming, behaves collectively. And it could be no other way. Naturally, the individual must be equipped with this trait. Otherwise, the smallest steps toward civilization could never have been made. Lemminghood is a survival trait, an inborn instinct in the majority of people. However, as with all natural phenomena, this tendency can be manipulated and used for harmful purposes. It is this lemming effect which enables entire segments of a society to lose their sense of judgment all at the same time.

This research paper will likely be wasted on many lemmings. For lemmings, denial is a basic psychological defense mechanism used to not only shield themselves from unpleasant realities, but also to reassure themselves that they will still fit within the acceptable range of opinion held by their peer group. Lemmings are absolutely terrified at the thought of being labeled as an "extremist" or a "conspiracy theorist". At all costs, their beliefs must always be on the “right” side of the issue and conform within the boundaries of their lemming peers. Lemmings simply cannot bear the burden of responsibility, or the social discomfort, which comes with thinking independently. They will resist any efforts to change their misguided beliefs with all their mental energy. We can try to open their closed minds and free them from their self-imposed blindness, but it’s not easy fighting the force of human nature. The chains of ideological conformity have too strong of a grip, and breaking them is a difficult task. With the limited resources at our disposal, it is next to impossible to compete with the media lemming-masters. The lie of the emperor is always believed before the truth of the peasant. Nevertheless, some of us must make the meager attempt, and thus lay the foundation upon which the truth might one day rise again.

There are those few among us who do possess both the courage and intellectual capacity to break free of the shackles of lemminghood and accept the truth when it is presented in a clear and logical sequence. To those open minded and independent thinkers I wish to state clearly and unequivocally. I intend to set forth in this paper an overwhelming body of evidence which should forever destroy the ridiculous notion that some Saudi Arabian caveman and his band of half-trained, nerdy Arab flight school attendees, orchestrated the most sophisticated terror operation in world history. The very idea is utterly laughable. And yet, due to the blithering barrage of bullshit dished out by the government/media complex, millions of "patriotic" Americans have accepted this fantastic fairy tale, this moronic mendacity, this silly superstition, this dangerous delusion, with a religious conviction bordering on insanity. As an admittedly useless public service to my helplessly misinformed countrymen of today, and as a gift to a posterity which will hopefully be more enlightened than my bewildered contemporaries, I have published this research so as to liberate as many people as I can from the oppressive yoke of media brainwashing and state sponsored lies. Do you have what it takes to break free from the lemming mob? If so, read on!

Here is the rest. Set aside a chunk of time and read.

The Pressure Cooker

Allrighty, then. We have pretty much made it through July, 2008. That's good. Very, very good.

August approaches, with the Summer Olympics. Meanwhile, the pressure on Israel builds inexorably. They really, really, really want us to handle the Iranian problem. And by that, I am referring to the 'real' problem: Iran's challenge to Israel's hegemony over the Middle East, which isn't a problem at all except for a very small circle of people, for whom it poses an insufferable affront to their self-esteem by wrecking their plans for world domination. Whaaa!! For as everyone paying attention knows, there's no legitimate reason for the US or Israel to attack Iran. So that necessitates fabricating some illegitimate reason, or false flag.
Cutting short his trip in Europe the first week of July, recently-appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Adm. Mike Mullen flew to Tel Aviv along with an entourage of high-ranking US military personnel and, upon his arrival, rushed to meet with the highest-ranking members of Israel’s military establishment. While this is not unusual (as many such meetings have been taking place as of late) what was unusual was the topic discussed–Israel‘s attack on the USS Liberty 41 years ago during the 6 day war and how ‘important’ it was ‘not to allow history to repeat itself,’ given the present tensions existing between Israel and Iran. Considering the subject of that meeting and the well-known cover-up that has taken place these last 41 years, the meeting should have made headline news all over America. Sadly, however, it did not, just another testimony to the fact that America is now officially ‘occupied territory’ every bit as much as Arab Palestine.
What's that? Yes. Mullen told the Israelis not to attack one of our ships and blame it on Iran. What nice friends we have in Israel, that need to be managed like the back-stabbers they are. But I suppose this is progress.

Of course, this forces the Israelis and their traitorous US branch of neocons to release the pressure some other way.

And as sobering a theme as all this may be, the fact is that it may turn out to be much worse. What Israel wants, Israel gets, and the fact that an attack on a US ship has been thwarted does not mean that the fat lady has sung, as now the likelihood of a false flag attack on the American mainland has been made all the more likely. This time however, just for good measure and for spite, it might not be a city building coming down after being struck by an airliner, but rather an entire city being consumed in a mushroom cloud, courtesy of a place called Dimona and a criminal organization known as Mossad.

Go read the whole thing.

I would have to agree that we are not getting out of this mess unscathed. I think an argument can be made that a very large portion of the American population will not understand how compromised our nation has become until the grim truth is shoved down our throats. What happens then is anyone's guess.

UPDATE: Right on cue....ABC News reports US Headed for 'Heightened Alert' Stage.
Government officials have been quietly stepping up counterterror efforts out of a growing concern that al Qaeda or similar organizations might try to capitalize on the spate of extremely high-profile events in the coming months, sources tell ABC News.
Homeland Security, headed up by the dual Israeli-US citizen and Talmudic Jew, Michael Chertoff, has announced a POHA -- Period of Heightened Alert, expected to run from now through July 2009. Shocking.

Regime School

I am just getting back into the swing of things after having spent most of the last couple of weeks finishing a deep edit for a book on Egyptian politics. The very charming gentleman who wrote it tells me he'll probably have to move to Canada soon, because his writing will eventually drop him into "troubles he cannot carry."

Imagine that. Sadly, I can totally imagine that. All during this project, reading about the Mubarak regime, and Sadat and Nasser, and how wily and clever they are at staying in power, I kept thinking Rove has studied this stuff, and so has Cheney, and so have all the other scumbags who scurry around in Washington think tanks figuring out ways to get power and keep power. And Bush learned everything he knows while walking around holding hands with Saudi Princes. Our current group of corrupt psychopathic 'leaders' has learned from the masters, the Arab dictators, the people who have perfected Regime Management over decades of authoritarian rule. It is seriously impressive in a deviant sort of way.

And you know what is so scary? It's this. At least if you live under an Arab dictatorship, you know where the lines are. You know when you're going to cross one. They'll just tell you: you can't criticize the president. But not so here. Our government knows where the lines are, but you don't get to know unless you are paying very close attention, and even then you can't be sure. It's a secret. Are you on the terrorist watch list? Who knows. How do you get on or off? Who knows. By the time you ever find out, it's much too late, like the poor dog running into the invisible fence. Yes, the Bush regime has set up their secret little dictatorship right here in the USA, trashing our Constitution with his signing statements, torturing people, making preparations for martial law, presiding over financial ruin, and tapping his fingers. Waiting...waiting. Waiting for the day when he can Be the Dictator, in Real Time, Live, Bursting out of the Oval Office in his Superpower Dictator Tights and Cape. Not Secret Anymore. Oh yeah.

And I'll say one more thing. Israel is nothing without the USA. These Arab leaders are exceedingly astute. Without the US running interference, Israel would quickly find itself in a diplomatic figure four, forced to behave. Violence would hardly be required. Our continued unqualified support of Israel prevents peace in the Middle East. If we got out of the way, they would all somehow figure it out with Israel. After that, the Arab dictatorships would eventually fall, and there would come a time of equilibrium and peace, which all people of good will desire. I don't know how long it would take or via what route, but it would happen.

UPDATE: George Washington describes why the US government really uses torture: to intimidate US citizens. Classic dictatorial behavior, of course accompanied by the usual litany of lies and justifications and scapegoats (the ever-useful Arab 'terrorists').

Let the buyer (of war) beware

Did you know that US troops are being electrocuted regularly and shower and drink totally contaminated water in Iraq?

Not to mention, of course, the Depleted Uranium.

That is not to mention, of course, the untold destruction and suffering of the Iraqi, Afghanistani, and Palestinian people.

Only God knows all the sorrows, the suffering and tears of every human being, each one created in his image, who have paid the price of our military adventures and our support of Israel. Most of us cannot even begin to imagine it, and worse, we don't want to be able to imagine it. But our cowardice does not really make the suffering disappear. God still knows about each life on earth, and how it lives, and how it dies, and who is responsible for its joys and miseries.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

New Game Show: How Stupid is Attacking Iran?

Today our contestant is Scott Ritter. Unlike the frightening Lord Stirling, who predicted all-out nuclear war and horrific bio-weapons attacks throughout the world, Scott is going to keep it to things we can all easily imagine. Let's just say this is the 'best-case scenario.' Nothing too scary for the kids watching at home.

Scott, what will happen if the US tries to secure the Strait of Hormuz?
The moment the United States makes a move to secure the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will unleash a massive bombardment of the military and industrial facilities of the United States and its allies, including the oil fields in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. American military bases in Iraq and Kuwait, large—fixed and well known— would be smothered by rockets and missiles carrying deadly cluster bombs. The damage done would run into the hundreds of millions, if not into billions, of dollars, and hundreds, if not thousands, of U.S. military personnel would be killed and wounded.
Oooh, that sounds really bad. But don't we have an amazing Navy that can secure the Strait?
There is virtually no chance the U.S. Navy would be able to prevent Iran from interfering with shipping through the strait. There is every chance the Navy would take significant casualties, in both ships lost and personnel killed or wounded, as it struggled to secure the strait. There would be a need for a significant commitment of ground forces to guarantee safe passage for all shipping, civilian and military alike. The longer ground forces could operate on Iranian soil, the better the chances Iranian missiles would not be able to effectively interdict shipping. Conversely, the longer ground forces operated on Iranian soil, the greater likelihood there would be of decisive ground engagement. With U.S. air power expected to be fully committed to the missile interdiction mission, any large-scale ground engagement would create a situation in which air power would have to be redirected into tactical support, and away from missile interdiction, creating a window of vulnerability which the Iranians would very likely exploit.
Wow. This sound really dangerous. It seems like we could lose an awful lot of military people in this endeavor. I don't think the American people realize that. Well, what if our 'good friends' the Israelis attacked Iran? Wouldn't that restrict the conflict somewhat?
Iran has promised to strike targets in Israel as well, especially if Israel is a participant in any military action. Such Israeli involvement is highly unlikely, since to do so in any meaningful fashion Israel would need to fly in Iraqi air space, a violation of sovereignty the Iraqi government will never tolerate. The anti-American backlash that would be generated in Iraq would be immediate and severe. In short, virtually every operation involving the training of Iraqi forces would be terminated as the U.S. military trainers would need to be withdrawn to the safety of the fortified U.S. bases to protect them from attack. U.S. civilian contractors would likewise need to be either withdrawn completely from Iraq or restricted to the fortified bases. All gains alleged to have been made in the “surge” would be wiped away instantly. Worse, the Iraqi countryside would become a seething mass of anti-American activity, which would require a huge effort to reverse, if it ever could be. Iraq as we now know it would be lost, and what would emerge in its stead would not only be unsympathetic to the United States but actually a breeding ground for anti-American action that could very well expand beyond the boundaries of Iraq and the Middle East.
Well, that would make a mockery of all the sacrifices made in Iraq to date.

Hmm. We seem to be a little boxed in here.

Well what about the economy? Don't we need to protect our oil-supply from those dangerous Iranians?
Neither the Israeli nor the American (and for that reason, European and Asian) economy would emerge intact from a U.S. attack on Iran. Oil would almost instantly break the $300-per-barrel mark, and because the resulting conflict would more than likely be longer and more violent that most are predicting, there is a good chance oil would top $500 or even more within days or weeks. Hyperinflation would almost certainly strike every market-based economy, and the markets themselves would collapse under the strain.
I see. So you're saying that this isn't going to be a cake-walk, and thousands of US service-people would be killed, and the world economy would collapse, and everything gained in Iraq would be irretrievably lost? Is that correct?

How can you be so sure? Maybe you are overstating the case. Perhaps the Iranians are just bluffing, and they want everyone to be afraid of them, but they don't actually have the capacity to withstand the awesome military might of the USA.
The decision by Iran to show its hand on how it would respond to any American aggression has cleared the air, so to speak, about what is actually being discussed when one speaks of military action against Iran. In many ways, the Iranian missile tests have made it less likely that there will be a war with Iran, simply because the stakes of any such action are so plainly obvious to all parties involved.
But...but...but....what about Israel?!?! Don't you care what Israel wants??!!??

The reality is that Iran’s nuclear program is here to stay. Iran has every right under international law to pursue this program, and regional and global tensions would be greatly reduced (along with the price of oil) if American policies, and in related fashion U.N. Security Council mandates, were adjusted accordingly. Israeli paranoia—derived not so much from any genuine Iranian threat but rather an affront to Israeli nuclear hegemony in the Middle East—must in turn be subdued. This can be done through a mixture of international pressure designed to punish Israel diplomatically and economically for any failure to adhere to international norms when it comes to peaceful coexistence with its neighbors, and international assurances that Israel’s sovereignty and viability as a nation-state will forever be respected and defended.

But Israel is SPECIAL, Scott!! Everybody knows that. They shouldn't have to adhere to any rules that they don't like, such as peacefully coexisting with their neighbors. That's why Americans must worry about all of this business with Iran -- so Israel can strut around the Middle East all day long flipping the bird to their Arab neighbors and chanting "We have nukes and you don't, neener neener neener!"
Of course, there can be no meaningful international pressure brought to bear on Israel without American participation, and herein lies the crux of the problem. Until the U.S. Congress segregates legitimate national security concerns from narrow Israeli-only issues, the pro-Israel lobby will have considerable control over American national security policy. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s continued push for congressional action concerning the implementation of what is tantamount to a naval blockade of Iran (and as such, an act of war) by pushing House Resolution 362 and Senate Resolution 580 is mind-boggling given the reality of the situation. Congress must stop talking blockade, and start discussing stability and confidence-building measures.
WHAT?!? Scott, you are just no fun. You are such a....what's the word....ADULT! Who wants to play this stupid game anyway. It's a stupid game. Let's get out of here. (screen door slams, hitting them on the ass...)

7/12/08

Doesn't this just say it all?

In a Guardian UK article titled President George W Bush backs Israeli plan for strike on Iran, this statement:

"Yet US officials acknowledge that no American president can afford to remain idle if Israel is threatened."

No American president can afford to remain idle if Israel is threatened. Just let that sink in one word at a time.

I have tried on this blog to highlight the unthinkable consequences of an attack on Iran. First of all, it would be morally wrong to attack Iran and cause the death of innocent civilians, but apparently that sort of argument doesn't hold much water anymore. As it turns out, there are many other 'self-interested' reasons why Americans should be vehemently against such an attack, namely American deaths and economic catastrophe that would make today's problems look like the good old days.

The fact remains that we have no idea what sort of hell might be unleashed, but the chances of horrible things happening are exceedingly high. So high that we can't afford to find out.

So what is Bush doing? He's giving the Israelis the 'amber light.'

President George W Bush has told the Israeli government that he may be prepared to approve a future military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities if negotiations with Tehran break down, according to a senior Pentagon official.

Despite the opposition of his own generals and widespread scepticism that America is ready to risk the military, political and economic consequences of an airborne strike on Iran, the president has given an “amber light” to an Israeli plan to attack Iran’s main nuclear sites with long-range bombing sorties, the official told The Sunday Times.

“Amber means get on with your preparations, stand by for immediate attack and tell us when you’re ready,” the official said. But the Israelis have also been told that they can expect no help from American forces and will not be able to use US military bases in Iraq for logistical support.

Nor is it certain that Bush’s amber light would ever turn to green without irrefutable evidence of lethal Iranian hostility. Tehran’s test launches of medium-range ballistic missiles last week were seen in Washington as provocative and poorly judged, but both the Pentagon and the CIA concluded that they did not represent an immediate threat of attack against Israeli or US targets.

Bush is giving this amber light against the advice of his generals. They know this is insanity. Reading between the lines, it does seem that there are many people in our government and military who are pushing back hard against this lunacy, and that's where you get these statements that Israel can not expect US support (for the first time evah, apparently, if you're inclined to believe in miracles). Since the US and Israel are Siamese twins joined at the hip, it's pretty hard to see how that would work; and certainly the rest of the world is not going to decide that the US is just an innocent bystander all of a sudden. Please.

“It’s really all down to the Israelis,” the Pentagon official added. “This administration will not attack Iran. This has already been decided. But the president is really preoccupied with the nuclear threat against Israel and I know he doesn’t believe that anything but force will deter Iran.”

The official added that Israel had not so far presented Bush with a convincing military proposal. “If there is no solid plan, the amber will never turn to green,” he said.

Why is the prospect of whether the world suffers WW III up to the Israelis? Says who? The Israeli leaders are crazy and dangerous people. This is like a hostage negotiation. The whole world is being held hostage by paranoid Israelis, and who do we have in charge? The insipid twit, GW Bush; who merely needs to be convinced that the Israelis have a 'solid plan' to change the light from amber to green. May God help us.

The article goes on to discuss the timing and grave consequences of an attack on Iran, culminating in this amazing statement that "no American president can afford to remain idle if Israel is threatened," which to my mind proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Israel controls the United States of America. If Israel is threatened, Americans must sacrifice. That's the equation. And we are talking big sacrifices.

I don't know about you, but as an American, I have a problem with that.

And now, here come the people who want to convince GW Bush that this is all not such a big deal.

Among the sceptics is Kenneth Katzman, a former CIA analyst and author of a book on the Revolutionary Guard. “I don’t subscribe to the view that Iran is in a position to inflict devastating damage on anyone,” said Katzman, who is best known for warning shortly before 9/11 that terrorists were planning to attack America.

“The Revolutionary Guards have always underperformed militarily,” he said. “Their equipment is quite inaccurate if not outright inoperable. Those missile launches were more like putting up a ‘beware of the dog’ sign. They want everyone to think that if you mess with them, you will get bitten.”

A former adviser to Rice noted that Ahmadinejad’s confrontational attitude had earned him powerful enemies among Iran’s religious leadership. Professor Shai Feldman, director of Middle East studies at Brandeis University, said the Iranian government was getting “clobbered” because of global economic strains. “His [Ahmadinejad's] failed policies have made Iran more vulnerable to sanctions and people close to the mullahs have decided he’s a liability,” he said.

Well shit, I can't help but notice that Mr. Katzman and Mr. Feldman appear to be nice Jewish boys, so I'm sorry, but I don't really care what they think. Give me some analysis from Mr. O'Sullivan and Mr. Smithfield that comes to these conclusions, conclusions that bear a striking similarity to what Israel wants.
“Maybe the Israelis could start off the attack and have us finish it off,” Katzman added. “And maybe that has been their intention all along. But in terms of the long-term military campaign that would be needed to permanently suppress Iran’s nuclear programme, only the US is perceived as having that capability right now.”
Gee, d'ya think?

Hey, I have a plan. It starts with us telling Israel to fuck off. And then we unplug them from their multi-billion dollar stream of US taxpayer funding, and then we replace the powerful US-Israeli citizens in our government with strictly US citizens. Maybe then they'll get their heads out of their asses before we have WW III on our hands.

7/9/08

Where is that damn crystal ball?

Events are moving very, very rapidly in the world, and these scenarios pre-date the current level of insanity with Israel and Iran. I can't really sort it out except to say there's always the possibility that they (meaning whoever the hell these people are who control events) want to scare the crap out of everyone with these horrible Iran scenarios and then pull back at the last second to "only" have an economic collapse. In other words, it's possible that the whole scare with Iran outlined yesterday is yet another giant manipulation to make the slightly less evil Plan B, mere global economic collapse, seem more palatable.

When you're dealing with psychopaths, anything is possible. So I don't know the answer, but here is another piece of the puzzle. Click through to read the whole analysis.
In May, 1990, Strong was interviewed by WEST magazine of Alberta, Canada. Strong finishes the interview with a very bizarre and apocalyptic narrative about a novel he wishes to write.

"Each year the World Economic Forum convenes in Davos, Switzerland. Over a thousand CEOs, prime ministers, finance ministers, and leading academics gather in February to attend meetings and set the economic agendas for the year ahead.

What if a small group of these world leaders were to conclude that the principle risk to the earth comes from the actions of the rich countries? And if the world is to survive, those rich countries would have to sign an agreement reducing their impact on the environment. Will they do it? Will the rich countries agree to reduce their impact on the environment? Will they agree to save the earth?

The group's conclusion is 'no.' The rich countries won't do it. They won't change. So, in order to save the planet, the group decides: isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?

This group of world leaders form a secret society to bring about a world collapse. It's February. They're all at Davos. These aren't terrorists - they're world leaders. They have positioned themselves in the world's commodity and stock markets. They've engineered, using their access to stock exchanges, and computers, and gold supplies, a panic. Then they prevent the markets from closing. They jam the gears. They have mercenaries who hold the rest of the world leaders at Davos as hostage. The markets can't close. The rich countries...?"

The Scariest Scenario Yet

If you haven't seen this yet, I'm sorry but it's gonna ruin your day.

Perhaps if enough Americans see things like this and begin to comprehend that people like me are not, and I quote, "paranoid delusionists," then just maybe enough of us will find a spine and prevent the ruin of the world.

Aren't we smug? We think we can launch wars at will against "shitty little countries." We think we can "crush them like ants" and nothing will ever happen to us except for losing a few of our army guys, and that is tragedy enough.

It never ceases to amaze me how blithely Americans talk about killing other people. But then again, Americans and Israelis are apparently the most racist people on earth. If a bunch of other people get killed, well that's one thing. But when we start dying, well oh ho HO... that's another thing entirely. That's different.

Except it's not different. Other people in other places don't consider themselves less human than us, less worthy to live. They really don't. They will fight back.

The best thing that could happen now is for the world economy to totally collapse and take the winds out of the Warship's sails once and for all. At least that disaster wouldn't cause thousands of years of radioactive contamination and biological warfare. And start praying.

In full, my emphasis:

War on Iran: The Perfect Storm from Hell - by Lord Stirling

As the global bankers’ plan to bring down the American and world’s economy continues (so that they can acquire as much of our wealth as possible at ‘fire sale’ prices ~ an old strategy), the world is facing another much worse danger. A regional war in the Middle East that will involve global strategic weapons of mass destruction with deaths in the hundreds of millions in North America, Europe, the Middle East and globally.

I have served as a consultant to three very high tech aerospace firms. My specialty is conceptualizing advanced warfare especially as it relates to new cutting edge advanced weapon systems. What I see unfolding with a war on Iran is the most frightening set of circumstances I have ever seen; and I have been involved in advanced theoretical weaponry strategy and design for over 20 years.

The rise of the Likud/neo-cons, with Benjamin Netanyahu as the unholy high priest, has been a disaster for Israel, America, the Middle East, and the world at large. The smartest thing that Israel ever did was to use American money to buy off Jordan and Egypt and make peace with them. The dumbest thing was to empower the Likud Party hardliners centered on Bibi Netanyahu and the Bush/Cheney Administration (with supporting roles played by Sharon, and neo-con leaders in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and elsewhere). Four years ago Israel was no where near a MAD (mutually assured destruction) environment. Today it has a very dangerous four-front MAD environment and it was unable, in the Second Lebanon War of two years ago, to overturn the dangers surrounding it, in fact the level of MAD danger has increased considerably since the summer of 2006.

The war party in Israel and America has facilitated the rise of a regional (Iran/Syria/Lebanon/Palestine) MAD. I truly believe that the Likud/neo-con strategy is a total failure. The stated goal of the strategy is to break-up and weaken several Middle Eastern states that pose, or could pose, a strategic risk to Israel. To this end Saddam was encouraged to attack Kuwait resulting in the First Gulf War. When he was able to demonstrate, even in the face of intense allied air attacks, his ability to “deliver ordinance on target” using his Scud missiles the United States (and allies) decided not to drive all the way to Bagdad. We knew that he was holding back “the heavy stuff” and only using “dumb” high explosive warheads; not the chemical, biological and radiological warheads that could have caused massive damage to Israel and to the Saudi oilfields. Saddam Hussein's military had prepared what it called the "great equalizer", an arsenal of 25 Scud warheads carrying over 11,000lb of biological agents, including deadly botulism poison and anthrax germs (an additional 33,000lb of germ agents were placed in artillery shells and bombs). It was only after he was forced into denuding himself of his advanced weaponry that the neo-cons were able to begin the Second Gulf War.

After Iran, the Likud/neo-con war strategy calls for the neutralizing of Iran and Syria. The Iranians response was to train and equip Hezbollah in Lebanon and to deepen their strategic alliance with Syria.

During the 2006 Second Lebanon War, the Iranian trained and equipped Hezbollah forces repeated the efforts of Saddam during the First Gulf War. They delivered a very large number of rockets with “dumb” high explosive warheads on Israel. The Hezbollah Special Forces are in-effect a highly trained and well-equipped Iranian commando force of at least a Brigade in size. They man and protect a large number of mostly unguided and rather crude rockets, generally Katyusha 122mm artillery rockets with a 19 mile/30km range and capable of delivering approximately 66 pounds/30kg of warheads. Additionally, Hezbollah are known to possess a considerable number of more advanced and longer range missiles. During the 2006 war Hezbollah fired approximately 4,000 rockets (95% of which were Katyshas) all utilizing only "dumb" high explosive warheads. Some Iranian build and supplied Fajr-3 and Ra'ad 1 liquid-fueled missiles were also fired. At the time of the 2006 war Hezbollah was reported to have in the range of 13,000 rockets. There are creditable reports that this number has been rebuilt and expanded upon since the end of that war and that the number of rockets is now at least 20,000 and perhaps 30,000 or more.

During the 2006 war the world watched as Israeli towns were hit time and time again by the Katyushas. What was not discussed by the main stream news media was the fact that the ordinance delivered by the Katyushas was mainly harassment fire with very limited effect. The Iranian/Syrian trained and supplied Hezhollah commandos were holding back their "heavy stuff" both in terms of their longer range guided missiles capable of hitting southern Israel and most importantly warheads of strategic military importance. That is NBC (nuclear [in this case radiological] chemical and biological) and advanced-conventional warheads. They were demonstrating their ability to deliver "ordinance on target" and their ability to survive a heavy Israeli ground and air combined arms attack.

Hezbollah has the capability of loading truly strategic warheads on the large number of mostly crude older technology unguided rockets that it has. The use of advanced-conventional fuel-air explosive (FAE) warheads on the Katyushas would have had a much more profound effect in Israeli cities. The use of FAE submunitions on the larger missiles capable of hitting any target in Israel would have given Hezbollah the firepower of low-yield nuclear weapons without crossing the nuclear threshold. Coupled with the large number of missiles in Syria and those in Iran, the Hezbollah rockets posed, and continue to pose, a truly grave strategic threat to Israel if FAE warheads are used. This threat is dramatically increased if radiological ("dirty bombs"), chemical, and/or biological warheads are used.

The massive number of Hezbollah rockets could also be outfitted with chemical warheads. It is worth noting that the joint Syrian-Iranian chemical warfare R&D and production program is perhaps the largest and most complicated on earth. Generally the Israelis have shown themselves to be prepared for chemical warfare, however a chemical war attack following closely behind a FAE attack (to open up bunkers and apartment buildings) would have greater effect. While it is not necessary to utilize a rocket to deliver a biological war attack, it could be done and there is some benefit militarily to a rapid dispersal of biowar agents under the cover of conventional attacks. Radiological weapons deliver the long term (which can be hundreds of thousands of years) lethal effects of radiation without the blast effect of a nuclear bomb.

The combined military strategic capability of NBC/Advanced Conventional warheads and very large numbers of rockets operated and protected by Hezbollah, coupled with the arsenal of Syria and Iran (and Hamas) acts as a MAD (mutually assured destruction) between Israel and Iran/Syria. Yes the Israelis can nuke the hell out of both Iran and Syria; however, they possess a fatal return punch.

The response from the Israeli and neo-con hardliners to the new MAD strategic environment has been frightening. Instead of recognizing the danger to Israel and to the entire world from the Iranian/Syrian “checkmate” on the aggressive Israeli/neo-con strategy, and making major changes to their strategy, they are attempting to “tough it out”. The issue of “danger from the Iranian nuclear program” is a smokescreen to facilitate the coming war on Iran and her allies (Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas) and to continue with the next stage of the neo-con strategy. The response from the hardliners is more war and damn their WMD (weapons of mass destruction). This is most unwise and most dangerous to the entire world.

When the USSR was falling apart, and in the aftermath of the USSR breakup, Iran spend a lot of money to hire some of the best Soviet biological war experts. The advanced biowar weapons that Iran has developed gives Iran a Global Strategic Weapon of Mass Destruction that can unleash levels of death among the populations of the major neo-con nations (USA, UK, France, German, Italy, etc.) very similar to that from a global strategic nuclear strike. This means that Iran and her allies have a MAD with America, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, German, Italy, etc.

Most people think of biological warfare as anthrax and smallpox; they do not understand that there has been a major shift in technology. The difference between the old biowar (that most people think of) and advanced biowar (with its recombination DNA designer super killer viruses) is like the difference between an old Model T Ford and a 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom. Both are cars, or biological weapons, but there is a difference of several orders of magnitude.

Regardless of how a war against Iran breaks out, it is likely to very quickly escalate to the usage of WMD. There has been talk among USAF war planners of a 1,200 (some say 2,000 to 3,000 or more) target attack on Iran’s nuclear, industrial, military, political and religious infrastructure. If a foreign enemy were to bomb 1,200 or more targets in the United States what would be the response of the American government and it’s military? Actually the answer to this question is well known. The stated doctrine of the United States of America is to rain hundreds of hydrogen bombs (WMD) on the territory and people of such an aggressor; this has been our policy for approximately 60 years. Why do we presuppose that the Iranians would not do the same?

If Iran is hit by either an Israeli and/or an American air attack, it is certain that Iran will respond. This response, even if is non-WMD at first, will certainly result in more escalation and counter-escalation. The chances of a regional Middle East war between Iran/Syria/Hezbollah/Hamas and Israel/USA not becoming a nuclear and advanced biological war nightmare are very low. In fact, since both sides know this, there is a strong military incentive to move to all out usage of WMD when the first bombs begin to fall (in order to utilize more of one’s weaponry before its destruction).

The end result will be a third or so of Israelis dead and large parts of the Israeli nation poisoned for hundreds of thousands of years by radiological warheads. Syria, Iran, and large parts of Lebanon and Palestine will cease to exists and will be little more than a green radioactive debris field poisonous to all forms of life higher than a cockroach for hundreds of thousands of years (longer than modern man has existed). The Iranian oilfields and most likely the oilfields of a large part of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other areas of the Middle East are also apt to be so poisoned by Iranian radiological warheads or Israeli/American nuclear fallout.

The world will suffer its most complete economic collapse in history. All of this will take less than one week.

At about two weeks, after the beginning of the war on Iran, emergency rooms and doctors offices will begin to see a sudden spike in a number of new diseases with numerous very ill people being admitted to hospitals in North America, and Western Europe and what is left of Israel. By that time the Iranian and Syrian states will have effectively ceased to exist with insufficient manpower and organization to even bury their dead.

The many new genetically engineered viruses causing the strange diseases showing up will have been spread by sleeper agents supplied with a number of new viruses and distributed in public places (movie theaters, shopping malls, churches, etc.) quietly without anyone knowing. Humans themselves will become the vectors of the diseases/biowar agents. Although the Bush Administration has spent $40 billion on biowar defense in the last couple of years, there is little that can realistically be done against a global strategic advanced biowar attack. The tactic of necessity will be to lock down everyone, with only key persons being allowed to leave their homes, in order to let the multiple genetically engineered diseases burn themselves out (a nice way of saying letting everyone who has the illnesses die off).

Expect to see dear old Bibi Netanyahu as ‘head’ of what is left of Israel. Expect to see sub dermal RFID chips implanted under the skin of the population left in the major neo-con states to “prove your disease free status” and necessary to buy, sell, or work. Expect to see military checkpoints everywhere and total control by the neo-con national governments over all aspects of life. Expect to see concentration camps for persons suspected of disloyalty to the state (this will include many viewers of sites like this one). Expect to see levels of death, fear, repression that are almost incomprehensible.

Expect to see the various biological warfare diseases spread throughout the world, even with a total shutdown of international travel. Millions will die in Russia and China. Expect to see those national governments not controlled by the neo-con masters to go ape shit when their populations face the nightmare of advanced biowar. Expect the regional war in the Middle East to trigger an all out global battle utilizing all forms of weapons of mass destruction within a few months of the initial attacks on Iran.

The New Boss

There's an excellent piece here about the way leaders make decisions, decisions which equate their own personal power and influence with the lives and well-being of other people. These decisions often result in many deaths, and they are then promptly covered up leaving the impression that the whole thing was a great shock to everyone concerned.

As Condi Rice once lamely said, lying through her teeth, "I don't think anybody could have predicted....."

To make a long story short, what's needed is for ordinary people to have enough moral courage to blow the whistle on these situations before they get to the decision stage.
One lesson of this book is that you will not reduce those risks adequately by action within the firm or government agency. The organization has to be monitored by other organizations that are not under the same management, that don’t respond to the same boss. You can set up processes within the organization that make truth-telling, realistic assessments, and warnings of danger somewhat more likely. But that isn’t close to being an adequate solution. Subordinates who act like bystanders (to keep their jobs) are indeed part of the problem, as Gerstein argues, but the organization’s leaders themselves are the major part.
Who are these organizations under different management? Who is the boss with the higher authority?

The only one I'm aware of is God himself. When people respond to the higher authority of an altruistic, just and merciful God, they will certainly have the moral courage to do the right thing at great personal cost.

It has happened, it does happen, it needs to happen, and I believe it will happen. The big wheels are turning and gaining momentum. Lies have short legs. The day is coming when they cannot outrun justice any longer, and the world will rejoice.

Only in Israel, and Only in America

Only in Israel -- a supposed democracy -- will things like this happen with impunity, and only in America will everyone pretend that nothing whatsoever is amiss.

First, an incident with the IDF.
A 10-year-old boy was subjected to physical abuse amounting to torture for 2.5 hours by Israeli soldiers who stormed his family’s shop on 11 June, seeking information on the location of a handgun. The boy was repeatedly beaten, slapped and punched in the head and stomach, forced to hold a stress position for half and hour, and threatened. He was deeply shocked and lost two molar teeth as a result of the assault.
These soldiers terrorized this ten year old boy and his family and smashed the house up with hammers.

But Israel is even worse than that. Israel has the settlers. Look how they tortured and killed this little Palestinian boy. He looks to be about eight years old.

I'm sorry to shock you. Perhaps I should have warned you about the horrible picture. I notice that people on the web often do that as a courtesy.

But I also suppose I think that's a bad idea. This is a little boy here who has been tortured and murdered by some crazy Israeli settlers, and I think you should see what they did to him. I don't want you to avert your gaze.

Did this boy's mother and father get to avert their gaze from their beautiful son's tortured body? No. And not only that, they get to live with the agony of losing their child in such a horrific, unjust way and carry on knowing that nothing will happen to the people who did this.

That's right. These murderous thugs have been doing things like this for decades, and they will keep right on doing it. And do you know why? Because we keep averting our eyes. We keep not noticing. And we keep sending money over to Israel, billions of dollars a year, and politely look away and hold our tongues while they murder little children, among others. It stays in the dark, and the media covers it up just so.

And even in Israel they don't know what to do about these people, they're so out of control. But the answer is to expose them to the world. Let the whole world see what happens in Israel, and we shall have a verdict about whether or not it is just.
"This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." John 3:19-21

Brilliant

Go here and see the others.

What I like best is the snark. I personally think it's really important at this point to pile on about the RIDICULOUS quality of the official narrative.

Americans like to be cool, but you can't be cool when you're a sap. So work on the premise that you have to hit people where it hurts. And since we're a shallow culture, I think pointing out how believing the government story makes one an idiot is as good a place as any to start.

What are they going to do about it? Fight back with facts? Try and prove us wrong?

Go for it.
