politicians

Is it fair to question the PERSONAL JUDGMENT of people in office or running for office? We think so.

We do not vote anymore. We consider the system completely broken. And we do not pay particularly too much attention to politics. We think politics is a big playpen to keep many millions of people busy and entertained and pouring their money and energy into activities that will never actually benefit them. We also consider that politics keeps a much smaller number of people EMPLOYED off of these many millions who don't actually benefit.

No thanks.

Before people consider voting, we think they should make some effort to DISCERN the judgment of those seeking power.

Are they weak? Are they corruptible? Are they narcissistic? Are they sociopathic? If so, why vote for them? If you can't find someone worth voting for, why vote? Voting affirms the system, and the system is totally broken. Do you patronize businesses that abuse you as a customer?

Do you want change? Stop voting. Stop giving your attention and time and money to corrupt politicians. Stop watching teevee. Reclaim that time to do your own research. Use your Google-fu.* Get a grip on what's really going on.

Only a person of strong character can have a chance at standing up to the MASSIVE SYSTEMIC CORRUPTION endemic in our society. If you don't understand the scale of corruption, you won't see the problem. That is why the controlled media does not talk about the true scope of corruption. They prefer to keep as many people in the playpen as possible. People stay in the playpen as long as they think that voting will make a difference in their lives.

That is why we write about ORGANIZED CRIME -- to reveal the scale of the problem. If you don't understand that the entire system is MASSIVELY, SYSTEMICALLY CORRUPT, you won't understand that politics is a complete waste of time. Organized crime means that there are corrupt politicians, and corporate executives, and bankers, and judges, and priests, and doctors, and social workers, and military people, and police officers, and intelligence operatives, and customs agents, etc. who work together to conduct human trafficking, and drug trafficking, and weapons trafficking, and organ trafficking, and money laundering, etc.

See: spectacular unforeseen disaster

If you don't understand the scale of the corruption, you won't understand that powerful people don't want anyone with good character ANYWHERE NEAR their control centers. A person of good character might blow a whistle. Therefore, any person who makes any political progress must be completely controllable, or else they will be taken down, or if necessary, taken out.

Therefore, we assume there is some spectacular dirt on EVERY SINGLE SENATOR, and probably on EVERY SINGLE REPRESENTATIVE who has been in office for a few years. Compromise = control.

We assume that anyone new to the system will also be either already corrupt or else readily corruptible. Otherwise, they won't BE ALLOWED to get very far.

Anyway, what draws people to run for political office in the first place?

  • To HELP other people?
  • Or to HELP themselves?

We think people SELF-SELECT for a life in politics. We think they tend to be legends in their own minds. We think they tend to be easily corruptible.

Christine O'Donnell. We wrote about Christine before. See: process of analogy.

Christine O'Donnell has a familiar face and a nice smile.

Aangirfan calls to our attention that the Tea Party seems to be run by the CIA?

And we learn more disturbing things about Christine O'Donnell.

Wilmington, DE – Communications Director Doug Sachtleben stated in response to the universal condoning of the Gawker story:
"This story is just another example of the sexism and slander that female candidates are forced to deal with. From Secretary Clinton, to Governor Palin, to soon-to-be Governor Haley, Christine's political opponents have been willing to engage in appalling and baseless attacksall with the aim of distracting the press from covering the real issues in this race. ...
The National Organization for Women (NOW) on Thursday condemned the tabloid website Gawker for publishing an anonymous account: NOW issued a statement late Thursday stating that "sexist, misogynist attacks against women have no place in the electoral process, regardless of a particular candidate's political ideology."
"NOW repudiates Gawker's decision to run this piece. It operates as public sexual harassment. And like all sexual harassment, it targets not only O'Donnell, but all women contemplating stepping into the public sphere," said NOW president Terry O'Neill.

Talk about changing the subject. Christine's campaign would like people to see her as a victim of sexism. They would like you to think that the question of her character is a DISTRACTION from the real issues.

But in fact, character is all that matters, whether male or female, young or old.

Foolish and easily corruptible people will never bring about change in the system.

If you want change, don't vote for silly people.

If they are all silly, don't vote.

UPDATE:  Karzai ticked off that the joint US-Russia operation went off without his permission...?

The head of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has demanded an explanation from NATO command in conjunction with the United States and Russia counter-narcotics operations in Afghanistan.
President's Office sent out a statement by Karzai in Kotormo shown an bewilderment at the fact that the operation went "without his permission."
Operation narkopolitseyskih U.S., Russia and Afghanistan was held Thursday in the village Zerasari Achin district of Nangarhar province. There have been eliminated four clandestine drug laboratories, confiscated 932 kilograms of heroin, 156 kilograms of opium, transmits ITAR-TASS.

That's curious.

^^^^^^^

A brief follow-up to let us count the ways...

First joint US-Russian drugs operation in Afghanistan yields good results

Russian and U.S. drug control services have carried out their first joint anti-narcotics operation in Afghanistan, destroying four major drug laboratories, the head of Russia's Federal Drug Control Service said on Friday.
Viktor Ivanov, the head of Russia's Federal Anti-Narcotics Committee, said during a joint press conference with Deputy Head of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Russia Eric Rubin that the operation destroyed four drug labs in Afghanistan on the border with Pakistan.
"The operation began on October 28 at 6:30 a.m. and four drug laboratories were destroyed by 10:20 a.m.," Ivanov said, adding the joint operation was carried out by a total of 70 personnel.
Ivanov had no information on casualties or the number of detained during the operation.
The operation, which took three months of planning, destroyed three heroin labs, including one large drug hub near the village of Achin, and one morphine lab.
Ivanov praised joint efforts by Russian and U.S. anti-drug services and said the effective work of a Russian-U.S. presidential commission in the sphere of drug trafficking was a good example of a "reset" in relations between the two countries.
He said 932 kilograms (more than 2,000 pounds) of high quality heroin and 156 kilograms (344 pounds) of opium was seized, or 200 million doses with an estimated value of $250 million.
Rubin also praised the results of the operation.
"This investigation is a very concrete example of real cooperation," he said. "We cannot succeed alone. This was the first step and we will continue to destroy labs."
Rubin said that one of the main goals of U.S.-Russian operations in Afghanistan was to "identify, disrupt, and destroy the drug trade."
U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev emphasized last year that the creation of a joint mission on the fight against drug production and trafficking in Afghanistan "should not consist of just commissions and reports, but of concrete results," Rubin said.
HOWEVER.....
However, Ivanov also admitted that "drug infrastructure in Afghanistan is expanding."
He said the number of drug laboratories in the country has increased by almost 2.5 times in the past two years, from 175 in 2008 to 425 in 2010.
Ivanov said that drug cartels similar to those in Mexico have appeared in Afghanistan and the transit countries of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Afghan drug production increased dramatically after the U.S.-led invasion toppled the Taliban in 2001, and Russia has been one of the most affected countries, with heroin consumption rising steeply.
Ivanov said approximately 65% of Afghanistan's opium crops are grown in the Helmand Province, one of the most volatile regions in the country, adding that farmers make "around $70 a year by cultivating opium, much more than for growing wheat."
An estimated 90 percent of heroin consumed in Russia is trafficked from Afghanistan via Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
MOSCOW, October 29 (RIA Novosti, David Burghardt)

So let's see here.....

4/425 = 0.0094.... that is almost 1% of the drug labs in Afghanistan...

And that raid took three months to plan...

And the growth rate of drug production in Afghanistan is 250% over the past two years....

So that means there are over thirty new labs created every three months....

And maybe four labs destroyed every three months....

What could possibly be better than clown pants? How about clown meat?

May 2009: Afghan drug trade thrives with help, and neglect, of officials

The narcotics trade in Afghanistan would be impossible without government officials and the Taliban on the payroll, said the man in the brown turban. "The link between them is a natural one."

...According to several Afghan former officials in the region, however, the major drug traffickers in southern Afghanistan don't worry much about getting caught because they're working under the protection of Karzai and other powerful government officials.

don't get confused

We do think some very bad economic times are coming soon.

Video from There are no sunglasses.

Many people will be confused. A blame game is coming.

We expect something else will probably be arranged to cause a big distraction from the huge economic problems and to also confuse the blame game.

Did you hear about the fifty nuclear missiles that went accidentally offline this past Saturday at Warren AFB in Wyoming. You know, Dick Cheney's home state?

This is the best we can afford with the US defense budget?
Or is this a joke?

Actually, this entire incident seems like a joke. It comes to us from The Atlantic, and Wired, and The Weekly Standard. It appears political. They even highlighted the conspiracy angle for us. Gee thanks! What's left for us to do? How about we just call the whole thing a mindfuck.

The White House response to the incident has been jaw dropping. When pressed on the critical security lapse, an unnamed official told Marc Ambinder of the Atlantic (emphasis mine): "to make too much out of this would be to sensationalize it. It's not that big of a deal. Everything worked as planned." The Atlantic

Emphasis in original.

We are tired of the unnamed officials. These people should put their names to their statements, because otherwise, their statements are U S E L E S S.

Lets recall the Minot incident. Six people from Minot AFB, who were all directly involved as loaders or pilots, died in "accidents" within days of the incident.

Scrolling down to the bottom of the CLG page, we read the astute comments of a retired military person, Mr. Don Lee, US Navy vet, retired. His comments are regarding the Minot incident, and in response to an anonymous military commenter who brushed the whole thing off. Specifically regarding the press coverage:
The military reporting of these incidents is itself contrary to military secrecy, reason, and law. I suspect an altogether different agenda. I believe that this high-level press coverage of a screw up, carrying nukes on B52s, is designed to use the US Media [gasp, they’ve never done that before!] to pressure Iran to meet US demands.

a.

The US military would never release to the public any real classified data, especially including data about moved or missing nukes, without authority from the White House.

b.

The US media is NOT entitled to print or distribute classified information, and is NEVER brought-in as it was in this case, so rapidly or on such an elemental and critical faux paus.

c.

The only logical excuse for the sudden and detail-filled news coverage of this event is that of an intentional release of data for political purposes.

...The missiles were moved, without any doubts, intentionally; OR The missiles were never moved and the press coverage is based on propaganda to scare Iran; OR the missiles were moved and the press coverage is based on propaganda to scare Iran. You can’t prove or disprove what the US military has done without EXTERNAL data. They’ll say whatever they want to suit themselves.

Big problems are coming. And distractions. And a blame game is coming too.

Don't get confused.

useless

As has been noted, David Coleman Headley apparently works for the CIA. He is being kept from Indian officials and protected in FBI custody.

David Headley is a CIA asset & they have invested a lot of their precious resources in training him & therefore they are going to atrocious levels to protect him. The CIA always does. Thus under the cover of the American Judicial system, Headley will disappear into the prisons, soon acquire a new identity, new papers & documents, passports & Visas, Credit Cards & Bank Accounts . . . a new identity & will resurface, doing what he is best at, a terrorist-drug dealer-mercenary.
Undoubtedly, the CIA-FBI, which are the world’s leading mercenary agencies, whose forte is too engineer assassinations, terror & wars, has infiltrated sections of the Indian political leadership & our internal security, as it has the Pakistani ISI, Military & Political establishment.

See: Aangirfan: David Headley, Israelis and the CIA

The Countercurrents article by Feroze Mithiborwala makes two important points:
1) How much information did the CIA actually divulge to India - very very meagre it is clear.
2) More intriguingly with the Pakistani authorities & it's friends in the ISI & the Military with which the CIA has a very deep & intimate relationship, stretching over 6 decades - it supposedly shared none !!!
Any moron is full aware that a 26/11 style attack could lead to a war, in fact a nuclear war between India & Pakistan, then why did not the CIA warn it's friends on either side & thus prevent the attack ??
For the simple reason that it is in the strategic interests of the US & Israel to create a warlike situation across South Asia. The larger objective is for India to mobilise & deploy it's military into the war theatre in Afghanistan if required & later in the coming war on Iran, which is imminent. The tensions & warmongering has now fuelled an arms race & both the countries are amongst the top buyers of weapons, required to protect their half-starving masses.

We also note that Headley filmed the Bhabha atomic facility.

Headley filmed Bhabha atomic facility for ISI

NEW DELHI: David Headley videotaped the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and its large residential colony in Mumbai for the ISI. This video, Headley revealed, was not given to the Lashkar-e-Taiba.
During his interrogation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Chicago, Headley said, "(in March 2008) Major Iqbal (who he described as his "handler" in the ISI) asked me to explore BARC in Mumbai and specially its staff colony as a target. He gave me the mobile phone camera (and) some counterfeit money." After he returned, Headley gave the video to Iqbal but did not give it to his LeT colleague, Sajid Majid. ...The other targets that Headley videotaped were Taj Presidency, World Trade Centre, Naval air station, Siddhi Vinayak Temple, Chabad House, Maharashtra police station, state assembly, El Al and Indian Airlines offices, BSE and Radio Club and Shiv Sena Bhavan. He has also surveyed almost all the Chabad Houses in many cities.
^^^^^^^

Headley appears to have played a central role in the Mumbai attacks. But Headley remains safe in FBI custody. From there he continues to feed out information on who should be blamed for Mumbai, like this Major Iqbal for instance, who requested the video of the nuclear research facility, which Headley took. Naturally. He was just doing his job WORKING FOR THE CIA while pretending to work for ISI and LeT....?

Major Iqbal, a Pakistani officer, and four other LeT operatives have Interpol warrants out for their arrest. The information came from Headley. Headley who works for the CIA and perhaps even Mossad...? The red corner notices make it obligatory that every member country detain the wanted persons.

"Interpol's move has busted Islamabad's claim of innocence that it was rogue elements in the country which directed terror attacks against India. The arrest warrant against two serving officers exposes the Pakistan Army establishment's links with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, which carried out the attacks. The move also coincides with Former President General Pervez Musharraf's admittance that Pakistan has trained terrorists to fight in Jammu and Kashmir."
How convenient!

^^^^^^^

Are they learning a lesson in India about trusting foreign intelligence agencies? Not a moment too soon?

Headley lesson: Agencies told to improve their intel network

Learning a lesson from the David Headley episode, and his wife’s unheeded warnings to the FBI, the UPA government has told intelligence agencies, primarily R&AW and IB, to develop a better source network of their own rather than rely on information sourced from other countries.
Though US diplomats have stated that all information gleaned from the Lashkar terrorist was shared with India, intelligence agencies after due diligence have reported back to the government that there is not a single reference to the Pakistan-born American national in the inputs shared by the US intelligence with them — till his arrest for the conspiracy to attack a Danish newspaper office, in October 2009.

While New Delhi understands that intelligence agencies normally do not share trade secrets, it is peeved that Headley was allowed by American agencies to travel to India for conducting reconnaissance on behalf of the Lashkar, and that he toured the National Defence College in Delhi, Pushkar, Pune’s Chabad house and other prime locations in the Capital in March 2009. This is despite the fact that transcripts of conversations between Headley, wife Faiza Outlaha and Tahhawwur Rana post-26/11 attacks — now shared with India — clearly indicate his deep involvement in the conspiracy....Given the fact that intelligence coordination between the two strategic partners is robust despite the Headley episode, New Delhi may not make any direct reference to this prickly issue during Obama’s forthcoming visit, except underlining the need for Washington to be more transparent on matters pertaining to terrorism against India.

The Indian agencies have also been told to reciprocate to American intelligence requirements on the same scale, and not go overboard as not everything shared by the West is worth the worry.

As regards this, government sources cite a recent terror alarm about an impending attack on Commonwealth Games on October 12 or 13 after a fax from a European intelligence agency. The US intelligence liaison could not verify the alleged threat. Subsequent investigations revealed that an Israeli private security contractor had over-heard an ISI agent in Kabul apparently talking in detail about an impending attack in India. The Israeli passed this on to an ex-CIA man currently employed in Walt Disney Security firm, New York, who in turn passed it on to a colleague in the same firm stationed in Mumbai. It was this Walt Disney employee who shared the input with other colleagues from Europe, which later became a subject matter of the fax to Indian intelligence. As a result, despite the information being from an unreliable source, New Delhi security agencies were on tenterhooks till October 13. New Delhi has now asked intelligence agencies to be more circumspect when dealing with inputs from other countries and to verify the same from their own sources.

"Given the fact that intelligence coordination
between the two strategic partners
is robust despite the Headley episode...."

Right. So OTHER THAN the four day organized terror attack that killed 173 and wounded another 300+, which Headley arranged and is blaming on some Pakistani B-team, which could have sparked a war between Pakistan and India, intelligence coordination between the two strategic partners is robust. Totally.

Could the government support markets for other crops?

Target the laboratories?

June 6, 2009:

BRUSSELS - NATO forces should target drug labs in Afghanistan, which would cut off a major source of funding for insurgents, said U.S. Army Gen. John Craddock, Supreme Allied Commander for Europe. "If we can destroy the processing facilities, then we can do a lot to stop the insurgency," Craddock said. "If we can take out the wherewithal to make bombs and bullets, isn't that a good thing?" He said his proposal was not about crop eradication and said that there was a "handful of NATO countries that have not listened to the argument."

Good idea. Must be time to retire then?

June 30, 2009:

STUTTGART, Germany — Adm. James G. Stavridis became the 15th U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) commander during a change of command ceremony at Patch Barracks here June 30. The Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen presided over the ceremony that transferred command to Stavridis from Army Gen. John Craddock, who served as the USEUCOM commander since December 2006.

October 23, 2010: (via There Are No Sunglasses)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Russia is complaining that the United States has not acted on information the top Russian anti-drug official provided about many narcotics laboratories in Afghanistan. Victor Ivanov, the head of Russia's federal drug control agency, says he provided U.S. officials in Kabul months ago the coordinates of 175 laboratories where heroin is processed. He says U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency officials in Kabul have told him they are awaiting U.S. military approval to take down the labs. "For some reason they are unable to carry out any operations to destroy these laboratories, because there is a delay from the military side," Ivanov told The Associated Press through an interpreter Thursday.

...Ivanov has said that Russia has 2 million opium and heroin addicts.

NATO has urged Moscow to contribute to the war effort in Afghanistan by training more counternarcotics agents and providing helicopters to the Afghan government's air force. Ivanov said he also has suggested going after the major landlords in Afghanistan's poppy growing region by submitting their names to the United Nations for sanctions. "It wouldn't be difficult to trace them," he said. Ivanov said he discussed the issue with U.S. special envoy Richard Holbrooke and other officials Thursday, then left frustrated that they provided no evidence that poppy eradication would strengthen the Taliban. "It sounded not like constructive discussion but a manifestation of stubbornness," he said. "I cannot say they are not listening. They are listening very carefully and attentively. But unfortunately, there are no results."

Russia Beyond the Headlines June 9, 2010: The silk route of the Afghan poppy, By Igor Yavlyansky, Izvestia

Moscow proposes the creation of an international coalition to fight the production of narcotics in Afghanistan

From this interview with Nikolai Tsvetkov, the deputy director of the Russian Federal Service to Control the Drug Trade (FSKN), head of the State Anti-Narcotics Committee, we learn:

1. Many of the regions where heroin is produced from opium are not regions where the war is going on.

2. Afghanistan needs economic development so that farmers can grow wheat, not poppies.

3. Narcotics production has grown by a factor of 40 since NATO entered Afghanistan in 2001.

4. Helmand province, bordering Pakistan, produces the most opium (59.2% of the Afghan harvest, 4,085 tons in 2009).
  • Helmand province is sparsely populated, with 5% of the Afghan population.
  • Helmand province experiences constant armed clashes.
  • Helmand province is primarily under the control of UK forces.

5. Afghan narcotics take three main routes. The Northern route is aimed at Russia.

"Obviously, we no longer share a direct border with Afghanistan. There is the former Afghan-Soviet border. That line is controlled by Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The longest section is the Tajiks. It is also the most complex in terms of the topography. The Uzbeks have a comparatively small section. And finally the Turkmens have a fairly long section. As far as we can judge, it too is fairly porous. That is, it wouldn’t cause smugglers much trouble. The narco-transit zone includes parts of Kyrgyzstan, also Kazakhstan, with which we share a land border of 7,500 km. (4,650 miles). Of course, the law-enforcement structures in these neighboring countries do what they are supposed to do. But the fact remains: the flow of narcotics from Afghanistan is now an avalanche. Therefore we are interested in even closer cooperation with our colleagues in Central Asia, Iran, and of course, Afghanistan itself."

6. The Northern route moves 25-30% of Afghan drug volume. These drugs flow into Russia. According to Tsvetkov, the drugs do not pass through Russia to Europe.

7. Synthetic drugs move from Europe into Russia.

8. According to Tsvetkov, Afghan drugs reach Europe through a second route, the Balkan route, which goes through Iran, Turkey and Kosovo. "The border between Iran and Afghanistan, by the way, is very strict and well fortified." Despite the risk, product still moves through the Iranian border using the Balkan route.

"Three drug smugglers were publicly executed in the holy city of Qom, south of the capital, it was reported. Two other drug traffickers were hanged in the southeastern city of Zahedan in Sistan-Baluchestan province, notorious for clashes between security forces and smugglers, according to the state broadcaster....They quoted local judiciary official Hoda Tarshizi as saying that those executed in Qom "had a background in drug smuggling and had served time in jail but had continued with their criminal activities after they were released."
Daily Mail, January 2, 2008

"Russian residents have spoken strongly in favor of the death penalty for persons who commit certain kinds of crimes; among them terrorism, drug dealing and sexual crimes against children. 79% per cent support capital punishment for pedophiles.... 65% want death for terrorists and 61% for drug dealers."
Russia Today, December 7, 2009

9. Drugs also cross the Iranian-Azerbaijani border on the way into Russia. Many drugs pass through Dagestan, which is known as the "golden gates" or "golden bridge."

10. Drugs may also cross the Caspian "from a port in northern Iran, for example, to Derbent, to Astrakhan, to Makhachkala, and also from Turkmenistan." These are all cities on the Caspian.

11. The Southern route goes through Pakistan and Balochistan, through the areas of heaviest fighting. The Northern route is safer. Or should we say, the Northern routes.

"Much of the ballooning supply of drugs shipped across Afghanistan's northern border, up to one-fifth of the country's output, has traveled to and through Tajikistan. The opium and heroin funded rampant corruption in Tajikistan and turned the country, still hobbled by five years of civil war in the 1990s, into what at times seems like one big drug-trafficking organization."

Kyrgyzstan

12. The Kyrgyzstan route is very busy. As we know, Manas Transit Center, operated by the US Air Force, is also in Kyrgyzstan.
"Conspiracy theories are not our line, but we know that know that various cities in southern Kyrgyzstan are drug hubs, primarily, Osh, Batken, Dzhalal-Abad and Kyzyl-Kiya. They are all on the ring surrounding the Fergana Valley. They belong mainly to Uzbekistan. One of the routes in this direction begins in the Tajik city of Khorog, on the Afghan border. Then it goes up into the mountains along the Khorog-Osh highway that was built in the Soviet era. In essence, it is the only serious route for crossing Pamir and coming out into the Fergana Valley. Osh is a large city with an international airport. The Osh drug mafia is an influential group. It’s fair to assume that it has political levers, and is trying to strengthen them. In general, narcotics and political extremism, just like narcotics and terrorism, are separate topics. It is clear that the narcotics, or rather the billions of narco-dollars are going to finance and arm criminals of all different “ideological” persuasions. States in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) feel the effects of this most of all.

Maksim Bakiev

13. Russia has been asking NATO to do something about this avalanche of drugs pouring out of Afghanistan. NATO refuses to eradicate the crops.
There are three arguments that have been made by Richard Holbrooke, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and by NATO Spokesman James Appathurai. 1) The first argument says that to destroy the crops would deprive Afghan peasants of a source of subsistence, and that unhappy peasants would then go over to the Taliban. 2) Secondly, if NATO soldiers become involved in this activity they will increase the risk of their own lives. 3) Thirdly, this costs money.

Richard Holbrooke, one of Obama's czars

So sorry. We have no money.

^^^^^^^

The silk route of the Afghan poppy concludes with these statistics:

According to the U.N. Commission on Drugs and Crime (in “Drug Addiction, Crime and Rebels”, a 2009 paper), Afghanistan annually exports some 900 tons of opium and 375 tons of heroin. Over 12,000 tons are in storage. Enough to satisfy the demand of heroin addicts worldwide for the next 100 years. Every year 100,000 people die from overdoses of Afghan heroin, including 30,000 Russians. The world opiates market totals $65 billion, of which the Russian share is $13 billion (20 percent).

Revenue from heroin traffic by the Northern route

Annual turnover: $18 billion.
Distribution of main royalties:
Transnational criminal and terrorist organizations: $15 billion
Small wholesale traders and retail: $1 billion
Narcotics labs in northern Afghanistan: $1 billion
Taliban: $30 billion
Proceeds to peasants in southern Afghanistan: $100 million

The Taliban makes twice as much money as organized crime, but it's all in the family.

One big happy family.

emotionally fluent - UPDATED

But is it true that all people have emotions?

What about sociopaths? They have emotions about themselves. However, they do not experience empathy.

They have [emotions], but in relation to themselves, not in relation to others. In fact, such individuals are unable to feel "social" emotions such as sympathy, empathy, gratitude, etc. This may explain why sociopaths are so willing to inflict suffering and pain onto other people without so much of a blink or remorse. For them, the emotions of other people have no meaning at all; they "are unable to construct and emotional facsimile of others." What kinds of emotions do sociopaths have ? They are quick to become angry, are aggressive, irritable, and are very sensitive to shame or humiliation. They are also get pleasure by means of dominance and are exhilarated by this.
This trait allows them to lie without remorse, to lie skillfully. However, in our experience dealing with various narcissists and sociopaths, we observe that they have two main weaknesses: 1) They have to keep track of their lies, which may be very time consuming depending on the complexity; and 2) They must deliver appropriate emotional responses to things that they have no (socially appropriate) emotions for.

"Remember this. For every one lie you tell, you have to invent two or three to protect yourself from the first one. Secondly, you've got to have a great memory, because you have to remember 'What have I said previously that could contradict me now?' Neurologically, truthful people don't go through that rationalization process.... Research shows us under MRI scan that when we fabricate, embellish and make things up, we use three parts of our brain. Whereas if you're recalling information [ie: an honest answer], you are only using one part of your brain." ~ Steve Van Aperin

Sociopaths are vulnerable to mistakes in tracking their lies and delivering appropriate emotional responses. These are HUGE disadvantages if EMPATHS (feeling people) would simply clue in and notice. Empaths typically don't clue in because we are not taught about sociopaths and how common they are (approximately one in twenty people). Therefore, we tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. Sociopaths use that tendency to buy time, to fix their mistakes.

^^^^^^^

Who would have believed that Colonel Russ Williams could do the things he did?

"Although sociopaths are notoriously difficult to diagnose even for a trained psychological professional, the Col. David Russell Williams case has several hallmarks of sociopathic behavior. To friends, families, and co-workers, he seemed to be a successful leader in the community. He was outwardly admired for his strengths and his commitment to community and service were almost too perfect. Given his arrest for a string of crimes including two murders, however, it seems clear that his public persona was nothing more than a mask to hide his true identity. This is protypical behavior of a murderous sociopath. Even more confirming of such a diagnosis would be his actions subsequent to his arrest. You would expect sociopaths when cornered to deny all allegations made against them, scrambling to come up with any plausible explanation for their behavior. A trapped sociopath will seem unflappable, confidently asserting his innocence. He is only half pretending. Ever an optimist, he will have deluded himself into believing that he may still skate away unharmed. In contrast, a truly innocent man would be apprehensive upon his arrest and prosecution because even an innocent man would understand the true danger of his predicament and the possibility of wrongful prosecution. If Col. Williams has seemed largely unshaken by his turn of fortune and confident of his imminent release, this would also be a strong indicator of sociopathic behavior."

The Secret Life of Colonel Russ Williams Exposed, 10/18/10, The Star:

We learned that Williams, 47, had pedophile tendencies, stealing underwear of girls as young as 9 years old during the 82 fetish home invasions and attempted break-ins between Sept. 2007 and November 2009. He broke into 48 different homes in the Belleville-Tweed area and Ottawa. One, he hit nine separate times. And he was good at it.
Sixty-one of the 82 break-and-enters went either undetected or were not reported. He targeted homes where attractive women lived, but as is disturbingly evident in photos of him naked and masturbating in young girls’ rooms, he had other tastes.
Williams took “thousands” of pictures of his crimes, Crown attorney Robert Morrison said, all of which he kept on his computer. The court saw numerous pictures of Williams dressed in the panties and bras he stole, often lying on the beds of his victims, masturbating.
There were photos of him wearing the stained pink underwear of a girl under what looked like his air force issued pants. Morrison suggested Williams might have worn the stained pink panties to work at the base he commanded.
There were photos of him lying in beds surrounded by the stuffed toys and panties of little girls, or of him wearing negligees and camisoles. In all the photos, his expression was stern, as if on parade for inspection.
On New Year’s Day 2008, he broke into a home in the Ottawa neighbourhood where he lived and sprayed semen on a 15-year-old girl’s dresser. He then took a picture of himself with the girl’s make-up brush touching his penis.
“There is nothing to suggest that make-up brush was stolen,” Morrison added to the audible gasps of the family members.
Throughout most of the day, Williams sat with his head bowed low, as though he wanted to crawl under a bench. But he looked at the video screens when pictures of himself in women’s lingerie were posted.
“The offences emphasize his obsessive behaviour,” Morrison said.
There was a pattern to the photos he would take during a break-in: He would first photograph the bedroom of his victim, then the underwear in her dresser. He would then arrange the lingerie neatly on a bed or on the floor, before modeling them and ejaculating.

Williams broke into the homes of his friends and masturbated in their daughter's rooms.

Can you imagine what would have happened if anyone suspected anything and made an accusation? They would be treated like Anita Hill.

UPDATE: We are suspecting a possible limited hangout here. Given his connections to Paul Bernardi, we find these statements a little too definitive:

He had a privileged upbringing, a highly successful career and sadistic sexual urges that would qualify as extreme even by the morbid standards of serial killers.
Yet for those who track such cases, perhaps the most striking element in the crime rampage of Colonel David Russell Williams, a former Canadian military commander sitting this week in a courtroom in Belleville, Ontario, is how late in life it apparently started, and how quickly it escalated.
According to evidence presented, Williams, 47, began breaking into houses near his own two homes to steal girls' and women's underwear only in the past several years, growing ever more brazen and reckless until he committed his most serious crimes: two sexual assaults in September 2009, a rape and a murder in November that year, and another this January.
But, actually, we really don't know that this behavior started late in life. That is just the NARRATIVE being presented. There are reasons that some people might want to put LIMITS on the Williams timeline, so that he can not be traced back to any accomplices or people who covered up for him.

See Penny's posts: The Killer Colonel and the Serial Killer Paul Bernardo; and Another Canadian Military Man, More Sexual Assaults

The caption under the six photo montage reads: "Split personality ... Colonel Russell Williams poses in stolen lingerie. He has received the strongest sentence under Canadian law."

Split personality? Who knows all about CREATING MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES IN PEOPLE?

THE MILITARY. They wrote the fucking book.

See Dave McGowan: There's Something About Henry.

Maybe Williams had a handler?

Empaths must learn to recognize sociopaths.

Empaths are emotionally fluent. Sociopaths are not. Emotional responses to everyone outside the sociopath is a learned skill, a second language.

It is important to be able to recognize emotional expressions. The seven basic human emotions are anger, contempt, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise.

It seems that even skilled liars will reveal their true feelings with micro-expressions.

The Eyes for Lies blogger examines various cases. She writes of herself:

Dr. Maureen O'Sullivan from the University of San Francisco, along with renowned expert Dr. Paul Ekman, completed a scientific study called The Wizards Project, which has identified 50 people with an exceptional ability to spot lies after testing more than 15,000 people. They call these people "Truth Wizards". Eyes for Lies is one of the 50 people identified.
Highly recommended.

Quick update with Eyes for Lies thoughts on deception clues:

I feel strongly that my two biggest tip-offs that someone is lying are inconsistencies in emotions, and odd word choices. These are what I believe are my two biggest clues.

Next I would have to say is inconsistencies in fact, followed by inconsistencies in personality/character, and microexpressions. The last two being interchangeable.

  1. Inconsistencies in emotions
  2. Odd word choices
  3. Inconsistencies in fact
  4. Inconsistencies in personality/character
  5. Microexpressions

We suspect that sociopaths and social engineers have been studying empaths for a long time, to learn our weaknesses.

We would like to see the empaths start studying the social engineers and sociopaths.

Turnabout is fair play.

banks piss on the third rail

They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders,
but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. ~ Matthew 23:4

The foreclosure fraud scandal continues to grow.

People may not understand all the ins and outs of alphabet finance, but they understand that they need a roof over their head and a job to pay for it. Working people understand that their mortgage is a priority, and they write those mortgage checks to the bank, and they work hard to have the money to write the checks to the bank.

There is no third party between the person who pays the mortgage and the bank who cashes the check. It's very straight-forward. And considering that, for many Americans, after they pay a third of their income to the IRS (ie: the Fed, to mostly pay interest on the national debt), housing takes the next huge chunk of their (flat) income. And these are heavy burdens.

1) The American people, through the bailouts, already paid the banks enough money to pay off every mortgage in this country.

2) This is about property rights.

The banks are pissing on the third rail. Given certain conditions, there might be an unpleasant feedback loop.

rich thick and chocolatey

Today the FBI is not looking too good for ignoring the warnings about David Coleman Headley given to them by his wife at the time.

"I told them, he's either a terrorist, or he's working for you," she recalled saying to American officials at the US Embassy in Islamabad. "Indirectly, they told me to get lost."

However we are NOT seeing much about how Headley repeatedly introduced himself as a CIA agent.

During his interactions in India, Headley frequently introduced himself as a CIA agent.

A limited hangout? Make sure people remember that the FBI fucked up but neglect to remind them that it was probably a CIA operation?

That's not very nice. Then again, we are not talking about very nice people.

Aangirfan has written probably sixty posts about Mumbai.

We have also written a bouquet of posts about Mumbai.

See: unclaimed property, about how no one claimed the mutilated bodies of the Mumbai terrorists in the morgue....
Doctors who conducted the post-mortem said the bodies of the terrorists – especially their faces - were beyond recognition.
Which we deduced meant the skin had been peeled off in strips. That is a known technique of the dark intelligence world. Which also means they were double crossed because someone -- intelligence operatives -- had to have been there to do all that and then leave without a trace.

See: limited hangout Mumbai edition, about Headley's background, and whether he is the missing link who knows the identities of the mysterious "third party" in the attacks...

You know the funny thing about people who have connections, they get a little tone deaf to reality. Those of us *without* connections know very well that if you bankrupt a bar, don't have a degree, and get convicted for smuggling drugs from Pakistan, then you can not reasonably expect to get a good job. That's how life works for us mere mortals. But the connected have different rules. The least you can do is become an informer for the DEA, and then use that cover to plot terrorist attacks.
Headley, 49, who was born Daood Gilani, the son of a Pakistani father and an American socialite mother, agreed to become an informer for the Drug Enforcement Administration as part of a plea deal after his conviction in 1998 on heroin-smuggling charges.
Law-enforcement and diplomatic officials say they are barred from speaking publicly beyond the court record in the terrorism case against Mr. Headley, who is alleged by American officials to have adopted his Western name in 2005 to make it easier to travel on terrorist missions.
But they acknowledge privately there is the possibility that Headley traveled to Pakistan on behalf of the DEA, which is part of the Justice Department, and used the trips instead as an opportunity to meet with leaders of the Pakistan terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba and plot attacks on Indian and Western targets.
You can also hook up with a couple of guys running a visa company, and use that as cover to bring suspicious people into the US. It helps keep the war on terror going.
The Justice Department has also not disclosed much of what it knows about the two immigration companies linked to Headley and a Pakistani-born Canadian, Tahawwur Rana, who is also under arrest in the United States and charged with terrorism.
News reports in the U.S. and India have identified the two men as owners or managers of First World Immigration, which had offices in Chicago, and the Immigrant Law Center, a much smaller company based out of a large air-conditioned market in south Mumbai. Both firms advertised their ability to help skilled and unskilled Indian immigrants obtain visas to enter the U.S.
Federal authorities say they believe that Headley used his connections to the companies as a cover for terrorist surveillance ahead of last year’s attacks in Mumbai, as well as surveillance of the offices of a newspaper in Copenhagen, Denmark, that was condemned by Muslim groups around the world after it published cartoons that depicted the Prophet Muhammed.
Headley’s affiliation with the visa companies raises an even more troubling concern for American law-enforcement officials, because there is the fear the firms may also have been used to obtain visas for extremists to enter the United States and Canada.
News reports in India this month said that at least one of the companies’ former Indian clients has already been deported from the United States after immigration officials here determined that he had false documents.
...The immigration companies put advertisements in Indian newspapers last November, only days before the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, promoting the firms’ ability to help ex-military officers obtain jobs in the United States and Canada.
Allright??!!! If you really feel adventurous, read this to see connections to Mulla Omar, Benazir Bhutto, etc.
All this is totally normal see? He could have been your mailman, no?

See: nobody ever authorized anything wrong, where some people started calling him a "rogue" intelligence operative....

So you see, it's one thing to work for the CIA, even though the CIA says he didn't. Of course they will deny it that's the CIA. But to work for the CIA and then switch sides and become a double agent working for LeT, that's where he went supposedly "rogue." I find it ridiculous that in a culture wading neck deep in Hollywood movies about spies and terrorists that anyone could possibly accept such a simple-minded explanation, but they will. It goes along with all those myths about American Exceptionalism and Patriotism and the whole pail of worms that our Men and Women in Uniform and all those who Serve This Country always and at every moment, at every branch of the complex decision tree in this terror-filled world which has been nurtured for our constant manipulation, the deliberate nature of this work being itself an evil beyond imagining, and yet they always do the right thing even if it's the wrong thing, because "you can't handle the truth," or some such shit like that. And when one gets caught doing something wrong, well, then he or she went "ROGUE." Because nobody ever authorized anything wrong.

I'm sorry was that confusing? Let me simplify: they fucking lie about everything. The CIA. All intelligence agencies. They lie for a living, and yes, they will lie to you, especially to you. It's all for you if you're a patriotic flag waving American. If you liked believing that Muslim terrorists did Mumbai, the lie about Headley being rogue is a little consolation prize for you, so that you don't have to face the truth.

The truth of the matter is that essentially ALL terrorism, certainly all the big jobs, is STATE-SPONSORED, and funded through the proceeds of organized crime, conducted by intelligence people, and then blamed on Muslims or whoever. That's it.

The situation is very bad, but hope remains. Not everyone is in on it. That's the good news.

For example, aangirfan alerts us to "a new book by General Hugh Shelton says a Clinton cabinet member proposed letting Saddam kill an American airman as a pretext for war."

Here's the story excerpted from Salon:

Early on in my days as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, we had small, weekly White House breakfasts in National Security Advisor Sandy Berger’s office that included me, Sandy, Bill Cohen (Secretary of Defense), Madeleine Albright (Secretary of State), George Tenet (head of the CIA), Leon Firth (VP chief of staff for security), Bill Richardson (ambassador to the U.N.), and a few other senior administration officials. These were informal sessions where we would gather around Berger’s table and talk about concerns over coffee and breakfast served by the White House dining facility. It was a comfortable setting that encouraged brainstorming of potential options on a variety of issues of the day.
During that time we had U-2 aircraft on reconnaissance sorties over Iraq. These planes were designed to fly at extremely high speeds and altitudes (over seventy thousand feet) both for pilot safety and to avoid detection.
At one of my very first breakfasts, while Berger and Cohen were engaged in a sidebar discussion down at one end of the table and Tenet and Richardson were preoccupied in another, one of the Cabinet members present leaned over to me and said, “Hugh, I know I shouldn’t even be asking you this, but what we really need in order to go in and take out Saddam is a precipitous event — something that would make us look good in the eyes of the world. Could you have one of our U-2s fly low enough — and slow enough — so as to guarantee that Saddam could shoot it down?”
The hair on the back of my neck bristled, my teeth clenched, and my fists tightened. I was so mad I was about to explode. I looked across the table, thinking about the pilot in the U-2 and responded, “Of course we can ...” which prompted a big smile on the official’s face.
“You can?” was the excited reply.
“Why, of course we can,” I countered. “Just as soon as we get your ass qualified to fly it, I will have it flown just as low and slow as you want to go.”
The official reeled back and immediately the smile disappeared. “I knew I should not have asked that....”
“No, you should not have,” I strongly agreed, still shocked at the disrespect and sheer audacity of the question. “Remember, there is one of our great Americans flying that U-2, and you are asking me to intentionally send him or her to their death for an opportunity to kick Saddam. The last time I checked, we don’t operate like that here in America.”
Here is the list of cabinet members. This was 1997.

We can make an educated guess.

The bankers are the ones who like the wars so much.

exploring the Chaco

We have written about Paraguay several times. We are always amazed how popular the Paraguay posts seem to be. It defies reason how many people come here just to read about Paraguay. Sort of spooky if you know what I mean.

We've written about Paraguay and the capital Asuncion, and the Tri-Border Area, and the strange things that happen there. Today we will look at Northern Paraguay.

Please note Filadelfia, just below the center. Filadelfia is reportedly where Nancy Pelosi and other celebrities go for R&R. See: east of Asuncion

This is the beginning of that story as told by Crad Kilodney in July 2009:

I was having lunch with Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi at Opera Plaza Sushi in San Francisco about six months ago, and she said to me, “Every so often, I need to get away from it all.  I want to go where nobody knows me, where I can relax and have a change of scenery.  So I go to Filadelfia, Paraguay.  It’s a wonderful place!  You should go.”  So I did.
Filadelfia is still very much off the beaten track.  Almost all Paraguay tourism is concentrated in the capital, Asuncion, and I certainly won’t knock it.  It’s a great place to buy luxury goods cheap (because they are smuggled in), and the hookers are hot.  But Asuncion is not the exotic Paraguay.  To see that, you have to go to Filadelfia.

To be clear, Paraguay is not a typical vacation destination. It is not like going to the Caribbean. This was written by Charles Brennick in 1997.

For the average tourist, Paraguay has little to offer. Asuncion, the capital, is hot and its buildings are in need of repair. Historical attractions, like its architecture and Jesuit artifacts, are destroyed or difficult to get to. Transportation over the bumpy roads is slow and unreliable. And if that's not enough, it's a landlocked country, hence, no beaches.. Paraguay's featureless landscape and lack of tourist attractions does not bring in the Western tourist, and those that come do not stay long. When friends and relatives came to visit me in Paraguay I usually ended up taking them to the neighboring Argentina or Brazil. Honestly, Paraguay is boring. Or, as the Paraguayans like to phrase it, tranquilo.
Perhaps the scarcity of tourists, even Paraguayans (the population is only 4.1 million) is what has allowed the country to preserve its greatest tourism asset, its wildlife. The semi-tropic eastern portion of the country has lush forests that abound with monkeys and birds. Ninety-eight percent of Paraguayans live in eastern Paraguay. As a result, its natural resources have been less preserved than other areas. Across the Paraguay River, in the western region, is the Chaco. The river completely separates two distinct habitats. The Chaco is a vast, virtually flat, and sparsely populated area with scrub and palm forests. The Chaco is one of the most pristine wildlife habitats left in South America. Its plant and animal biodiversity is comparable to the Amazon. The green desert has an indescribable appeal that lured me to the area numerous times while I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay and eventually motivated me to donate time to work with Paraguay's only Chaco ecotourism operator, Natur.
Paraguayan River (Wikimedia)

Therefore, according to Brennick's information, everything on the first map is part of the Chaco, including Filadelfia. He describes the Chaco in detail -- the tremendous wildlife, the heat, the solitude, the Mennonites.

I would like to see more ecotourism programs in this unique area and have them be managed in a way that preserves and enhances the Chaco's resources. Unfortunately, Natur and other Paraguayan tourism organizations have a long way to go before they achieve all of the benefits available through ecotourism. As stated, these companies need to work more closely with the native populations to ensure they receive more benefits from the programs. The Paraguayan government needs to create policies that encourages ecotourism. The government should establish preservation regulation that ensures the survival of the area's wildlife. Finally, tourism operators need to follow guidelines that reduce the impact on the resource they use. Ecotourism should be promoted in the Chaco as long as it is beneficial for the Chaco's people and wildlife.
Seems like a good plan. What could possibly go wrong with ecotourism?

You may also have heard that the Bushes have a big ranch in Northern Paraguay.

Click through for pictures.

You can read about this circa 2005 development here, and also at Rigorous Intuition:

About a year and a half ago (here and here), I referred to Sun Myung Moon's purchase of 600,000 hectares of Paraguay's Chaco for the stated intention of erecting an "ecological paradise." Moon's land sits atop the Guarani Aquifer, the Earth's largest resource of fresh drinking water, and also happens to be an "enormously strategic point in both the narcotics and arms trades," according to Paraguay's drug czar from 1976-89. "The available intelligence clearly shows that the Moon sect is involved in both these enterprises."

Those two links: (here and here) -- you might want to read those. Everything will make much more sense.
The last paragraph of the second link:
So what do we have? Two huge post-apocalyptic sanctuaries resting atop enormous aquifers [in Northern Paraguay]. Two billionaire globalists, one a New Age mystic [Maurice Strong] and the other a cultist who has insinuated himself into the leadership of the America's conservative evangelical movement [Sun Myung Moon], both patronized by the Rockefellers. UFOs and crop circles. Welcome to our world.
PLUS Bush. And the US military. And Nancy Pelosi on vacation. All in the Chaco. OK?!

From one of the supporting links we read about the "temporary" US military presence in Paraguay arranged back in July 2005. "The troops will help train Paraguayan officials to deal with narcotrafficking, terrorism, government corruption and domestic health issues."

This agreement grants U.S. soldiers complete legal immunity from some of their actions while they are in the country, affording them the same privileges as diplomats as well as leaving them free from prosecution for any damages inflicted on the public health, the environment or the country’s resources. According to Servicio Paz y Justicia (SERPAJ) Paraguay, the Paraguayan National Congress passed this resolution allowing for the entry of U.S. forces with no debate, behind closed doors and with the public largely unaware of the entire transaction. Joining with SERPAJ, other human rights groups also have voiced their concern, with U.S. military instructors being criticized by human rights activists for having a history of teaching torture tactics to thousands of Latin American mid-level military officers at the U.S.-based School of the Americas since shortly after World War II.
Other points made in the (excellent) article:

  • There have been previous suspicions of outside forces wanting to exercise military control over the natural resources of the Chaco region.
  • The Pentagon claims to have "no plans of any kind" for a permanent presence. Sure. See: Ecuador, the Philippines, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
  • Bolivia has two very large petroleum and natural gas reserves near the border.
  • Paraguay's decision to allow the US military in potentially destabilizes all the neighboring countries.
So all this has been going on in Northern Paraguay for at least several years.

^^^^^^^

In April 2010 President Lugo declared a state of emergency in Northern Paraguay on account of the "terrorist" group, the EPP.

As part of Operation Py’a Guapy -- "tranquility" in the Guaraní indigenous language -- 3,300 Paraguayan army, navy and air force troops along with 300 national police officers have been sent to the northern provinces of Concepción, San Pedro, Amambay, Presidente Hayes and Alto Paraguay.

On Sunday, Apr. 25, President Fernando Lugo signed into law a bill declaring a state of emergency in the conflict zone, which encompasses five of the country’s 17 provinces.

According to government security agencies, these are the provinces where the EPP is active. Its roughly 100 members operate in remote, inaccessible forested areas, with the support of high technology equipment, where there is little or no police protection.

...Under the state of emergency, suspected EPP members can be arrested without warrants.

See: the point B list

We might wonder where these Paraguayan terrorists got their high tech equipment, and why it takes 3000+ armed government goons, also presumably with plenty of high tech equipment, to track down 100 people in a remote area. They couldn't track down Osama bin Laden for nine fucking years so we won't hold out hope. But for now let's just note that this is all happening in Northern Paraguay, in the Chaco.

July 2010: Land Reform: A clear and constant problem for Paraguay's president, by BB Sanford of Council of Hemispheric Affairs (think tank) makes the following points:

  • Northern Paraguay has some of the poorest provinces of Paraguay.
  • Eighty-four people were detained for not having documents, fraud and sexual abuse. Not one was linked to the EPP or any other insurgent group.
  • Land reform is a big issue in Paraguay because 80% of fertile land is controlled by 1% of the population.
  • Land reform is a primary goal for the EPP, the Paraguayan People's Army.
  • Lugo was elected as "bishop of the poor."
  • But now POOR LUGO is sick and there's so much corruption in Paraguay and with these terrorist acts and political enemies, he just can't do anything about land reform!

"Tyrone, you know how much I love watching you work, but I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped."
~ Prince Humperdink

There's more.

Until recently, some people maintained that there is no EPP and the mayhem was being caused by drug traffickers.

"Two important events eliminated this line of thinking."

1. A man named Niño Salvador Saldívar surrendered to the police and claimed to be a member of the EPP on June 20, 2010.

2. And THEN the authorities discovered a camp with EPP documents.

Since then, "multiple kidnappings and killings have been attributed to the EPP."

According to the article:
  • "The EPP supports itself financially through kidnappings and ransoms."
  • Many affluent ranchers are afraid of the EPP.
  • The inadequate state presence encourages the EPP to commit violence.
  • The EPP may be linked to FARC of Colombia.
  • Wealthy landowners might be forming private militias in response.
We are reminded of South Africa, of state-sponsored violence that never gets investigated. Of social engineering.

It seems that in reality, the alleged EPP members who do the killing, who are most likely government-trained and sponsored thugs and drug traffickers, get away with murder; while the indigenous Paraguayan farmers and peasants, who we presume do not have high tech weapons, are treated as terrorists and get blamed and killed instead of the actual murderers.

"The corpse of Nimio Cardozo, one of the leaders of the Paraguayan People's Army (EPP), killed in a clash with police early morning in Hugua Nandu, 500 km north of Asuncion, arrives in the Paraguayan capital September 24, 2010." Getty Image

So how does that work? When a "terrorist" is "killed in a clash with police," how do the police manage to beat the shit out of the man and apply such precise gunshots to his torso?

You see, apparently Lugo is no lefty liberation theology priest. He's a fascist elite. And it seems he wants dead any people on the left, especially any uppity peasants, who formerly associated with and supported him while he was pretending to be the "bishop of the poor." And evidently, this is easy to arrange since there are plenty of sprawling elite fascist ranches in Northern Paraguay from which to host death squads.
This northern region is recognized as an area which normally moves with the rebel group, composed of known members of political parties of the Marxist left and peasant leaders, with broad popular base in the area, most of whom worked for the election campaign that brought to power the government now is determined to annihilate them.
This new extrajudicial execution adds to the Severiano Martinez and Gabriel Zárate.
Oligarchy and indifference:
As heroes of the social struggle were branded Paraguay People's Army members executed by senior government order archbishop of Fernando Lugo, of the relatives of the killed Nimio Cardozo.

Relatives and friends of the guerrilla harsh words referred to the government of the priest, and addressed to the Minister Rafael Filizzola cowardly and criminal.

The father of guerrilla extrajudicial execution, Christopher Cardozo, Vasquez was in the morgue because of Asunción was not allowed to see the corpse of his son and gave no explanations.

The press could not come to the place where the remains veiled, where a crowd paid homage to its martyrs.

A cloak of doubt covers the actions of the oppressors, whereas three of the group are falling Marxist killed, as if uncomfortable for the government to capture alive a member of the EPP, former political allies who are in power.

^^^^^^^

Let's finish up with ecotourism. The Chaco might be an ecotourist destination. Is that what Nancy Pelosi does for relaxation when she goes to Filadelfia? Or what other reasonable explanation might we come up with?

We don't know. But next door in Brazil it seems that the FBI has been investigating some North Americans going down to the Amazon on ecotourism fishing trips, and taking on some young girls as sex slaves, and doing this every year.

Over two years ago I published "Child Sex Tourism: Brazilian Teens Testify About Being Lured into Minor Prostitution for American Tourists."
It imagined what it would be like to be a 13 year old Brazilian Indian girl, living with her poor family on their reservation. Then a North American named "Richard" shows up and asks for your help to sweep, do laundry and cook on his fishing boat.
You agree because your family needs the money for food.
When you get to the boat, you learn that your real job, along with other girls, is to drink whiskey and beer and have sex with the "North Americans" on a fishing trip. After they go back home, you are left pregnant, not knowing who the father is.
Three years later, in July of 2007, you find yourself with four of the same girls in the office of the Regional Superintendent of the Federal Police of the State of Amazonas with your mother, a federal police transcriber, an attorney hired to represent you and the Federal Police Chief, who is asking you to tell him what happened. The police take your deposition because they are investigating that minor Indian and other girls living near the rivers in the regions of Autazes became victims of sexual exploitation by North-American foreign tourists.
The girls testify that "Richard" went to the same village every year, luring girls to help him with housekeeping and cooking on his boat, the Amazon Santana.

"If there is a nuclear war, the northern hemisphere will be a very nasty place to live. Or rather, not live. There are few targets in Africa or South America. Prevailing winds will block anything flowing to South America when it hits the giant Andes mountain system. In the shadows of that, life will be good for anyone who has money, power and control of the military. This is one reason why American spooks and the elites want total control of the governments down there."
