That's sad news. I always liked Kenny. In wondering how I might put into words what I liked about him - his level headedness, his moderate tone, his sense of what was and wasn't reasonable - I realised that you'd already nailed it with your use of the word Gentleman. Good call.
The other thing I would say, which I think a lot of people missed, was that he was a properly superior writer. He had that marvellous knack of writing simply and clearly and arriving the reader at the point he wanted to make almost unaware that they'd been reading at all.
Which is all well and good, but hidden within this simplicity lay a true lyricism. I'm unsurprised to learn that Kenny was a musician. Looking back it was obvious. Was he a songwriter? He certainly had the makings of a poet in him.
Writing ability aside, it's no small thing for a fellow to stand up in public and say No. It's not as easy as it looks. Kenny did that, and he did it with style, with grace, with aplomb. Certainly I will miss him but I'm only one of many, many.
My condolences to his family and friends.

family and i are holding breath.. the kids all work in retail and we have many recent imports in the area.... as you've noticed..
just after it broke about patient zero, i had take mum to the ER she popped a blood vessel under the skin around her eye.. wouldn't have bothered, but she'd run head on into a metal pole (walking) at work.. and had a goose egg.. so it was back to chk that she didnt' have some weird sort of brain bleed.. she's fine... eyeroll... but.. i walk in the door to the ER on that Sun night.. what is in a chair, across from the intake desk, an african woman, shaking w/fever.. we're some 25 mi north of where pt. zero was/and hosp.. but it was still unnerving.. we went off down the other end of the hall, and waited..
couple of weeks ago.. so i'm hoping we aren't zombie bound... as i've heard nothing on the woman we saw.. hopefully it was just some cholera or friendly malaria (weak smile) or this latest entero 86 that mimics polio..... fun eh?....blinkblink...

i'm in 3rd yr of online uni.. got a 2yr degree, an assoc's. in accounting. but hav now switched over to mgmt...came out w/a 3.98GPA and so far, second session, of jr. yr.......and ugggh statistics.. holdin my 4.0 by the skin of my teeth.. next wk, is finally the end of the 8wk session,,,,,, tu ye Godz.... stat is drivin me crazy.....
twins are in college they go the cheap route to local uni, to get their gen. ed outta the way w/o any debt,then on to UTD, uni of tx at dallas..... baby is a senior in h.s.... time fliez... and now kenny's gone...... i always appreciated him frm a far...

my impression of ebola is psyop. but meanwhile they are letting all manner of immigrants and diseased immigrants in, and that you won't hear about whatever disease is the true concern. with ebola, they keep telling us all this horrible stuff but if you look at the pics they're all people laying on stretchers and honest to God i don't see a bleeding anything anywhere. these people could be sick and dying from anything or nothing, but i don't buy ebola. my guess is it's a shiny scary thing to herd the panicked sheeple into a vaccine. then they will get sick and die and it will all be conflated together so the cause and effect is presented to suit the narrative.

i just don't think my kids should have to die because the insane gov that runs this country won't even temporarily stop visas/travel or institute mandatory quarantine of w. africans or recent travelers to affected countries, or manage the border as they are tasked to do.........gee, cuz that'd be racist and sheiiiit........to secure the safety and general welfare of our citizenry first... then go help others if we could...that's the first rule of first responders their safety....and for communicable disease.. containment.

Strange, I have not been on line for almost 2 months. First time to your blog and this news of Kenny's passing. His blog was always rock solid.Where do I go to find out what he died of? Was in natural? An accident?
