Some people "jostled" the police.
So the police brutalized them.
That's their job......?
Water cannons turned on Stuttgart 21 protestors
Blocking the way and jostling police? Sounds like an ordinary protest.... which is now a justification for indiscriminate brutality?A police spokesman said the officers tried to form a defensive line to ensure the passage of the construction workers. But hundreds of people blocked the way, some of whom also jostled police.
We thought the job of the police is to ensure public safety. The police then formed a large force of manpower to clear the way, which included water cannons and mounted officers...Baden-Württemberg Interior Minister Heribert Rech said federal police as well as officers from Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia were helping his own state’s police with the operation.
It was the job of the police to ensure that this legal, approved building project could go ahead, he said. “We are fulfilling that (job) – no ifs, no buts,” he said.
The police were aiming for a de-escalation of the situation. But criminal acts or blockades were be dealt with firmly, he said.
...The Police Union issued a statement appealing to protestors not to take their anger with the project out on police.
The police, however, are encouraged to take their anger out on the protestors?
The police did not waste any time escalating their violence against the protesters, which included many students and retired people.
The police are not apologetic. They acted appropriately. They were appalled at the aggression of the protesters. The police are the victims. These images "cannot be allowed to repeat themselves." These *images* are the problem.
The police have defended their actions. Rainer Wendt, who is the head of one of Germany's main police unions, told the news station N-tv that the police operation had been "not only legal but completely appropriate." He admitted that the pictures in the media "weren't pretty," but added: "That's not the police's job. Its job is to carry out its legal duty."
At a press conference Friday, Baden-Württemberg Governor Stefan Mappus defended the police's actions, saying "I stand behind our officers." He stressed the importance of the Stuttgart 21 project and called for a de-escalation in the conflict. "The images from yesterday cannot be allowed to repeat themselves," he said.
Rech, the Baden-Württemberg interior minister, also defended the police operation, saying that officers had been appalled by the aggression with which they were confronted.
“A growing number of people are extremely intolerant and spoiled by their own prosperity,” Goll complained to the Financial Times Deutschland, referring to the fierce opposition against the €4-billion plans to revamp Stuttgart’s main train station. “Nobody thinks about the coming generations, instead the focus is on avoiding something that is irksome to oneself,” he said.
What would Mr. Goll know about privilege and prosperity? Goll is a lawyer and a professor. He has a nice government job. He thinks the German people should surrender their weapons, but he would prefer to keep his own. (wikipedia)
An avid shooter, maybe he will take one of his two Harley Davidson motorcycles or his BMW to hang out with the Stuttgart police and they can grouse about those spoiled Germans. "I like to go there, it is completely relaxing." (Justice minister shoots out 'joke and romp')
"Early in his career, he arranged to meet at least with the right winger Jörg Haider Carinthia to a motorcycle ride in the Alps." (Justice minister shoots out 'joke and romp') Too bad he can't hang out with Haider anymore.
perhaps as a result of that strange hole in the roof?
- The project will cost at least 7 billion euros.
- The project will not deliver the benefits touted for the local people paying for it.
- There are many conflicts of interests between the politicians and the various construction companies and other bodies that would benefit from the project.
- The project will take 20 years to complete and turn the center of the city into a construction zone.
They had come out in force because they had read the information and made a rational estimation that the gigantic sums of their tax payer money would be better allocated to other objectives, especially at a time when support for schools and hospitals and other essential services is being slashed to the bone....
One thousand school-children had come to the park on Thursday and their demonstration had been officially approved. So when the police showed up en masse with water canon trucks and equipment to start sawing down ancient trees in the Schlosspark, they saw no reason to move.
And look what happened.
On October 2 the fascist Geert Wilders gave a speech in Berlin titled Islam: The Communism of Today. There are around three million Muslims in Germany, approximately three percent of the population.
The vast majority of them are from Turkey. People like Wilders think that radical Islam will destroy The West.
Geert Wilders, is a Dutch politician, and possibly a CIA-Mossad asset. Wilders' Party for Freedom is the second largest Dutch party in the European parliament. Wilders is a strong supporter of Israel and has criticised countries he sees as enemies of Israel.
Wilders supports implementing Israel's administrative detention in the Netherlands, a practice heavily criticized by human rights groups.[26] Wilders believes that he has Jewish ancestry.[6]
The Dutch newspaper Telegraaf reported in May 2007 that Geert Wilders had been accompanied by the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service for years. During that time, Wilders had been regularly meeting officials at the Israeli Embassy in The Hague.
It's possible that a tiny slice of the population can do tremendous damage. We have seen that sort of thing before. But it requires tremendous organization and political power. We don't see Muslims having such power. We don't think Muslims are the problem. Are those police officers and their political supporters Muslims? No. We think people like Geert Wilders and Ulrich Goll, and their rich friends in power throughout the world, are the problem.

I think the police attack and the graphic pictures are designed to cower the public and dissuade them from further peaceful protests. And, on the other hand, encourage a certain section of the public (complete with 'agents provocateurs') to return the violence. Win Win
Another way needs to be found to prevail against the elite their destructive plans. It's not the police and their violence that needs to be battled.
I don't how long we will survive in passive resistance mode, nor do I think the tribe fear anything but the lynch-mob. History tells us that a fierce resistance is the only strategy that stops them.
If the Palestinians had just rolled over do you think the tribe wouldn't have jumped for joy?
Every time the Palestinians/Lebanese fight back – 2003, 2006 and the Intifadas; they kick yid arse and the land theft/settlements abruptly grind to a halt.
Talk is cheap, which is why the yids are always ready to indulge in the pretence of ‘peace talks’ – never have they achieved peace and the filthy yids always grab more land – hello – look at the present reality!
The problem as I see it, is that people that have not known human conflict first hand, are scared into inaction at the thought of the terrible consequences – yep, war sucks and people get hurt. Unfortunately, this ‘deer in the headlights’ phenomenon empowers the dirty evil yids, who are not very good at fighting wars against a well organised and motivated enemy, because they are cowards – hence, the stock in trade of the IOF (israhell offense farce) is murdering women, children and unarmed civilian men.
Serial killers enjoy the pleas for mercy and hysterical screaming of their victims, do they offer mercy? No; they indulge more voraciously their bloodlust. The dirty yiddish tribe are congenital serial killers and have been for at least three thousand years – they don’t give a shit about passive resistance, they count on it!
AP, it is not my intention here to engage in or create an argument, I just know from personal experience that bullies don't consider their conduct from the perspective of their victims. No doubt we shall see which strategy is the one that all people who choose freedom rather than enslavement and genocide eventually adopt.
One day soon we shall have to make our choices.
I pray for peace and plan for war.

do the palestinians keep having babies? yes. that is peaceful non-compliance, which is a different thing than hamas fighting the IOF. and it is also different than deciding to stop trying, to stop living.
so when it comes down to fighting, of course people need to do what they need to do, but until then the thing to do is to not comply with the directives to shut up and obey.
Spoiled by their own prosperity?
In other words, people who worked and earned their prosperity are wanting to hold on to it?
How outrageous! I mean really.
How dare these people feel that what they earned is theirs!
"Nobody thinks about coming generations"
As if this dolt does?
As if corporations and banksters do?
And he wants other people to give up their guns, but, not him?
Must be that he is afraid, afraid of an uprising, where dolts such as himself who have done nothing but think of themselves and screw everyone else including "future generations", will be in the sights of those he has helped screw over.
So there he is acting in his own best interest
Love ya work and I am on your side, if I come across as bitter and frustrated some times it's because I am. I just can't get past all the scams I have been suckered into being part of - Military Service, I so regret being one of their bullies, Sheeyat! Paying a mortgage - sold up and am happy to rent, truly the yids won't be usuring my ass ever again! The land theft in Palestine, Gaza, pedophile rings, organ harvesting, aaaarrrggghhh! Lemme outta here!
I have to go now and catch up with your new posts, you guys are so prolific, yay team!

another thing good to read is James thoughts here:

which is about how and why to not comply.
To quote James Lee Burke, it is like we are living in one big open air lunatic asylum. And where the craziest behaviour belongs to the staff

It seems that the pain and sacrifice of ordinary folks does pay off. Once they spill our blood on the streets they open a door that they won’t approach. It makes them nervous. That’s a very interesting door.
from your link:
Polls show that the majority of people are in favor of abandoning the construction project: any referendum would, therefore, almost certainly bury the project.
The Baden Württemberg CDU government led by Stefan Mappus had refused to hold a referendum, claiming it would breach laws.
you mean 'bury the project'...
that is really excellent news!
